eBay Links to Block and Manage Buyers
Other
Buyers who bid on an item and then decide to not pay and waste our time, that is definitely a very unplesant situation so here are some links to help with that.
Buyer Managment:
www.ebay.co.uk/bmgt/buyerrequirements
Block Buyers:
You can add up to 5,000 members, but hopefully you won't.
Also, for buyers who leave items unpaid you can cancel after 4 days and then he/she receives an unpaid strike on the account.
This is good information and very helpful. If the person gets a lot of strikes can they not just make a new account?
jms19 Possibly, but of course with zero feedback it makes sellers skeptical of accepting such buyers.
It's good eBay got rid of the fees, they can now compete with Vinted.
PhilipMarc yeah i suppose anything is better than nothing and tbh ebay can’t do a great deal about it.
I learned years ago on eBay , that some people have nothing better to do than to bid win and not pay, always the low feedback scorers
I must admit I'm not surprised when people refuse to pay with regard the global shipping program. Ebay are not fair in what they charge those people who buy goods abroad. Ebay won't allow me to combine postage my end for multiple items and they charge them individually for the items. However I use the global shipping program as it makes it much easier for me and makes ebay responsible for shipping abroad which takes a lot of the risk out of it. Then you have people in the UK who just don't pay for no reason and those who unfairly leave negative feedback giving wrong information as the reason and you can't reason with them. I think I have about 50 names on my blocked bidder list.
BonzoBanana Sold something on eBay recently, I offered free postage and it sold via the Global Shipping Program.
Don't know how but the total including what eBay were charging for the GSP was displayed - they had lumped on £26 postage on a £50 Item.
I know they have to put a new label on and pay for the onward shipping, but it was only going to Italy!
blacklabrador I always disable local pickup and GSP. If international, I'd rather do it myself, and for two reasons I don't want local pickup (safety and time).
PhilipMarc I do local pickup as I'm remote so no one will opt for pick up cos locals aren't likely to go for my items. One reason most want kids stuff for free
blacklabrador They also have to add sales tax to the amount too even though a private sale. I think for single items GSP is reasonable/ok but its just awful if someone has bought more than one item, the end result the buyer pays is unfairly high which means often they don't pay and I have to relist the items.
This is good to know. Sometimes I get loads of messages from the same person who always time wastes. They never buy
PayItForward I currently have a buyer who has yet to pay for an item he won, and he told me he's interested in another, but I've activated the option to block buyers like him who've yet to pay.
If he doesn't pay... I'll cancel the order on November 2nd for unpaid order, he gets a strike, and goes on my block list. Tired of time wasters.
MelissaLee1 Just yesterday I had a request for a buyer to do a return and no option to refuse it... Now I see why eBay has such a bad rep, but admittedly most sales go well, at least.
I'll have to check everything's in order and if it isn't report to eBay, then, another one to the block list. Jeez, on Vinted I never have to worry about any of this nonsense. Heck, users on there are actually pretty friendly overall.
PhilipMarc My e bay experience has been generally been good but I've been taken down a couple of times.Still.Goes around comes around as they say.
MelissaLee1 Yes, I now leave a warning time wasters will be blocked and I can't really trust zero feedback users will pay as pretty much every single one of those accounts were new and never paid. They were made intentionally just to waste time... I don't get it why anyone would bother doing that.
