Do You Ever Have Trouble Sleeping?
Ask a Question
I have had this problem for a while now. I find it really hard to sleep even though im really tired. I tried to do lots of exercises so I can make my body tired. I have tried wearing an eye mask but it hasn't made a difference.
Do you have the same problem?
What do you recommend I do?
Justlooking2 Just search for "Pillow Speaker" on Amazon/Ebay etc. They usually come with a 3.5mm headphone jack cable which fits fine in my phone, but if your phone doesn't have an old style headphone jack or you have an iPhone, you can get adapters. You place the speaker actually in the pillow (not under the cover) so you may have cut a small hole in the pillow to put the speaker in.
Justlooking2 No problem at all. It definitely helps me when I have a lot on my mind, as you concentrate on what you are listen to, rather than what is on your mind. Hope it works for you
I sleep ok now with a eye mask but only after taking a mild sedative off my doctor although I still wake up tired I've been diagnosed with chronic fatigue syndrome
Imnotcheap I will definitely be going to the doctors and getting myself checked out.
I sleep better when I turn all electronic devices off at least an hour before bed (i.e., tablet, tv, phone although I don’t do this as often as I should). I definitely find it easier to get to sleep when I do.
Chanelno5 I used to be on electronic devices quite often. However I have limited myself but even still I find it troublesome to sleep.
I find playing a repetitive game on my phone actually helps me to get to sleep since it seems to wear my mind out somewhat and makes me concentrate on something other than whatever I was thinking about that was keeping me awake. I know electronics can make things worse for a lot of people, though.
I’ve had sleeping issues for years. CBD oil worked for a while but then I must of got used to it and it stopped working.
Currently working shifts so when I’m off I use a 5htp supplement which has been BRILLIANT for me but warning, it does give you crazy dreams! Lol
I am lucky I just go to bed and as soon as I lay on the pillow I drift off pretty quick but it doesn’t matter what time I go to bed I always wake at 5 am
Yes, and I’d say it usually down to stress. Someone earlier this year recommended taking melatonin as it’s meant to help - knocks him out like a baby
hspexy okay, I will take a look into that. Thanks for suggesting it. Hopefully it will help me.
Yes, I drink chamomile tea before bed and use lavender sleep spray, I find keeping my room cool and staying in a bedtime routine works well too
emmajd I rather have a cool room than a warm room which I struggle to sleep in
I like to write a journal before bed and that helps me to transfer my thoughts out of my head and onto paper, it has really helped me sleep as I used to just think about things round and round all night and it would stop me sleeping. I get much more rest now
Bexy so similar to keeping a diary? Actually thinking about it, I used to have one. Its a brilliant idea but when it goes into the wrong hands its an can cause an issue
Justlooking2 yes just like keeping a diary, I am still careful if what I write in case someone finds it, it is more a way of preceding feelings and thoughts
Pop into Aldi or Lidl. Look in the herbal tea range. I think they are actually called sleep tea or something very similar...got lots of calming stuff in there....works a treat and is natural. Win win. Hope they help
Mskaur I might give it a go. Sounds like a bullet proof plan. I think the problem is that I sometimes am over tired.
I do due to various operations and damage to both my upper and lower spine, rather difficult to get comfortable.
Yes I do have trouble. I can often find myself awake for a couple of hours in the middle of the night. It's incredible frustrating.
I find the pillow sleep sprays are quite helpful.
There's lots of them around but I think the Land Of Nod Spray from the poundshop is as good as any other and just £1
ILOVEFANTA i didn't know you could get those. If its for £1 and works then thats a bargain
I have done for years and years now but I do have degenerative disc disease amongst others... I haven't tried the pillow spray though x
Thanks to everyone who shared xx
I know it may not help many people but try pillow sprays (lavender ones) or white noise (rains sounds etc) search therelaxedguy on YouTube its helped me so many times!
If you can get this I highly recommend it. It's available over the counter at the pharmacy and is really good for getting you off to sleep.
Everyone I've ever known who says they have trouble sleeping. If I have opportunity to look at them they are akip within minutes and snoring their heads off lol.
Oh my gosh, what l wouldn't give for a good night's sleep, l see most hours in but I'm so stressed about my existence and future, so don't think it's ever going to change
I can fall asleep standing up some days so no not really but my wife does and uses meditation
i participated in a zoom Pilates class the other day and noticed one of the other ladies had fallen asleep. She woke up at the end when we do a 5 minute relaxation
The only thing that works for me is intermittent fasting. Where you eat for just eight hours a day and only drink water the rest of the time. My eating window I chose is between 10.30am - 6.30pm it has a world of other benefits to. Sleeping is defo one of them.
Sleep what's that I've tried sleep stones sleeping pills from doctor nothing seems to work
Buying jumbo sized pillows and changing them every 4-6 months (from Asda or Tesco). Works for me.
I have always had trouble sleeping since a I was a baby . Since having children Now youngest 4. And going back to work
I sleep a lot better . And don't eat after 7pm. I have 7 hours now . Not all the time, I still sometimes have sleeplessness . But it's a lot better
I use to sleep really well but now I am waking up with terrible neck pain. I have tried different pillows and different amounts of pillows but nothing is solving the problem. My body is riddled with arthritis so it may be that.
I’ve started using high strength CBD oil, just two squirts. I’m sure it’s helping, I get 4 hours of uninterrupted sleep.
Yes I do as I work nights so when I get home like now, I am hyper and It takes me ages to drop off.
