I dont like people who swear every other word in a sentence, it is unnecessary however this seems a little excessive! Swearing really isn't that offensive it warrants £100 fine, but I imagine this could be a big money maker!
HannahSunderlan that's true, £100 is a bit steep, they have enforcement officers patrolling the streets
Not condoning swearing at all, but once the councils jobsworths get stuck into this one they will be fining people for the most minor of indiscretions . Appears to be another money generating scheme by a local authority
Mango4 I must admit I swear too much, like most Yorkshire folk do, but never in public like a park ect...
Have a job enforcing that I would imagine. My mate would be in serious trouble and declared bankrupt within a week!
Lol what a joke this government is taking the p*** there is way more going on out on them street and they are worried about swearing what a load of moron's
Leannexxx they've only been in power a few weeks and already the backs of the British people are up, what a joke labour are....
I personally don't like people asing a swear word as every other word particularly when out in public, but this is a little extreme to say the least. Not that I can see it being enforced anyway.
How are the council going to police this? There’s never a traffic warden around booking vehicles parking on pavements!
Pjran they will use those enforcement people who go around town centres looking for litter bugs and issue on the spot fines
This isn't ok. There's policing people then really nannying them. This is about controlling people rather stopping crime/antisocial behaviour
Jerseydrew the snowflakes of this country have a lot to answer for next thing you won't be allowed to breath without someone saying it's allowed
I could maybe understand if it was perhaps swearing whilst threatening someone and being aggressive towards them but just swearing in general is a bit excessive.
I don't usually swear in public but I'm not offended by anyone who does. This is just taking it a bit too far.
Good luck trying to do that in my area - there’ll be more than swear words that they’d have to contend with
hspexy yeah same here, they'll be put in the boot of a car and given a free ride lol
Well i am a swearer unfortunately, but i do moderate it around most people. £100 seems a bit steep though
Over in Northern Ireland, so clean if Sheffield adopted the legendary same stance it would be a lot nicer
Clean up litter & take it home dont litter the streets & beauty spots of the world...
I£100 for swearing for F sake,, make it same for dropping litter!
janphoenix51 yeah £100 is a bit steep, I totally agree with you about litter, and they should be fined more for littering
