Fireworks?
Ask a Question
Did anyone go to see some fireworks or did you do them at home I did them at home myself as my youngest doesn't like the loud bang so I got some quiet skies from Aldi for £10 They weren't the best but perfect for my little one
We went to a fairly local free display at the weekend and it was amazing.
Best display I've even been to and that's a statement. Not only were there a decent amount of them it was timed to music and in different sets. We made a small donation on the gate but I did go home and give a much bigger one when I got back.
I don't agree much with fireworks due to the trauma they can cause but if people are sensible and stick to a few nights, even reduce the noise of them, as we know it can be done, then they are beautiful to watch and something really special.
DeBunny....That sounds really nice, I love to see the beautiful displays in the sky but not the loud bangs.
It was nice that the prices for attending that event weren't over inflated & you were allowed to give what you wanted.
I never bother with them personally. Because of the noise I stay home as my cats freak out at the noise. To this day I can’t see why the noise is necessary.
My service user is terrified of the loud bangs, after going out for her usual Tuesday meal with her Support Workers & housemate she hurried quickly it the house, me by her side with my arm around her re assuring her, she couldn't get in the house quick enough!
The noise of the fireworks by me only stopped about half an hour ago. It will take my cats a good couple of hours to calm down. For years people have said why do we have to have the noise and nothing ever seems to be done.
suevernon1968 sorry about your cats and hope they are okay
Pfft hate fireworks yeah they are nice to look at but it went on for hours it does every year! From damn 5 all the way to 11 I think it’s non stop! There are some people who even start them again around 1 and can go on until damn 3am! Though it didn’t last night
Hate the ones that create a humongous loud bang as it makes me jump so much and stomach sinks that’s how loud they get
kitty88uk apparently the ‘law’ states fireworks must stop at 11pm - makes me wonder about new years eve.
suevernon1968 really I think that's displayed ones don't think it applies at home I could be wrong tho
suevernon1968 is that so, not that those stupid people will even listen and stop at 11pm pfft
Why even bother wasting so much money setting fireworks off? Don’t see the fun in it and causes the sky to be all tidy all night and next day
Yesterday the smell still lingered all day
kitty88uk the fact that the shops have to sell as many as they can in a relatively short period of time i find that the smaller shops don’t seem to be as strict with the minimum age of the sale of fireworks.
suevernon1968 is that so, well there were fireworks going off last night past 11pm but thank goodness they were not loud as they were set off at a far distance but could still hear them
On 5th they were too loud by someone opposite side of us
No but dad had bonfire . The neighbourhood in years past used to completely light the sky there were so many fireworks. This year I only saw … 3! What’s happened?
I have some sad news about fireworks last night. One of our cats had a firework thrown at him due to the injuries we had to have him put to sleep
R.I.P Mario
Jackscot what heartbreak you must be going through. My thoughts are with you. I would like to find the people that did this and throw fireworks at them
Jackscot So sorry to hear that.
There certainly needs to be tighter resitrictions on the sale of fireworks. They are after all dangerous explosives. Unfortunately, too many irresponsible people are able to get hold of them - in order to buy them, you just need to be aged 18 or over and that's it. I also think shops shouldn't be allowed to sell them so far in advance, say no more than a week before bonfire night. They are also way too loud these days.
I haven’t been to see fireworks for a long time. My local park/council this year haven’t or aren’t doing any, they’re doing a light show instead
Well it's been fireworks everyday for over a week, fed up of them to be honest, my youngest only like sparklers so that's all we bought this year
I didn’t go to any display, but also couldn’t believe how many days they went on for. Plus they seemed to be extra loud this year.
LL81 we were watching the Liverpool game last night and they seemed to go on for so long during the game
Not been in years. Mine hated them when younger and not fussed as a teenager. I can live without fireworks cos the noise stresses so many others out
I didn’t go to any displays but i’m lucky in that where i live i get to see a lot so haven’t missed out
My elderly neighbour had a stray firework in her back garden destroyed her back door. We know it was a stray one because no one has access or can get to the back as it’s a padlocked gated access
Very quiet around our area this year, still some going off but not as many as usual and not that many big displays this year around our area.
I didn’t go to any displays this year but they are still going on this weekend. My son is going to a display tomorrow night. I did get my children indoor ones once, they were not the best.
