Free or Cheap Days Out
Ask a Question
Hey everyone, just wondering what you all do for a free or low cost day out?
I often go walking or cycling with a picnic but looking for some inspiration
Budgets are very very tight at the moment so the lower the cost the better
Thanks all xxxx
Exactly what we do in our area weather dependant, we go off for walks and sometimes take a picnic. Also take advantage when The National Trust offer free tickets.
HEDGEHOGS I don't drive so limited as to how far I can go, but love National Trust places, unless I snag a good train or coach deal
HEDGEHOGS Hey, thank you for your helpful comment. We've emailed you a £1 Costa coupon to say thanks! It has gone to the email address on your Latest Deals account.
This ad came up on my Facebook yesterday for Tesco Summer Roadshow - the ad said free food and activities
Brands – including Tesco own-brand – will be positioned in sunflower-adorned summer houses, set around a garden complete with white picket fences. The elevated experiences set within a garden gathering will include a BBQ area, family space complete with brands including Lego and Nerf, and a live food theatre showcasing recipes and useful hints and tips on how to celebrate at home with friends and family.
snoogans888 Thank you for sharing this link - turns out this is happening at my local store.
Consumer that’s great glad to hear it’s on at your local store. Hope you get to try some delicious food (always tastes better when it’s free!).
The ones that are close to me are during the week so no good for me unfortunately.
I've seen an offer on Kellogg's rice Krispies boxes where you can buy one adult ticket and get a child or another adult free to some attraction places like a sea life centre or Alton towers
On your days out walking you can do what can I spot .. butterflies, bees, types of trees etc
Nadiaparveen yes I know the ones you mean, never really looked at them in detail, but I will now, thankyou
During the summer there are usually free things to do for families which is very important at the moment. Personally i go for a walk or play tennis. I used to help put on free tennis classes/play in the local park which was fairly popular
Check out the website of your local university as they often have events that are open to everyone.
Example here is Cambridge Uni
There were several offers giving free family passes for National Trust properties. I’m sure you’ll find them if you Google it. The expiry date is 4th July.
slightfoot I’ve just seen another free ticket but you need to login to your sky vip account.
I geocache. Gets you out and about. Cost is howuch you're willing to spend. You can dip. In and out. Of it and it's world wide
Jerseydrew yes I love geocashing, takes you to send interesting spot that you wouldn't otherwise look at
I usually make a couple of sandwiches up and a drink and head off to a forest somewhere.
If you're wanting family days out don't forget the cereal boxes that do 2 for 1 offers to theme parks or sealife centres.
Find local wooded areas and scout local papers FB groups for events with special offers.
Remember though nature is free and if again it's for kids get them to make up an ispy sheet they can walk along the beach, forest/wooded area or even through a local nature reserve or a park.
It's about making memories and they don't have to cost a fortune
kimdixon36 K, i used to do this when i was younger, but just be aware of tics, they are rife in forest areas and can cause lyme disease amongst some serious illnesses
Make sure you cover up and use a spray , heres one article about them, there are many on google, articles that is not tics

If you have children it's always worth looking for local splash parks. The kids love them and if you take a picnic you can make a day of it for free.
Usually a nice long walk when the weather is nice. We have good canals nearby. It’s a shorter walk when the weather is not as nice
We take our son to the park, the beach, the splash pool, take him for walks or just play in the garden. All these things are free and our son loves them. Local cinema also does cheap family films once a week.
MrsCraig I don't have kids, it's soo hard to find stuff to do as adults, that don't cost a small fortune, but thankyou anyway lots of good ideas for when the neices and nephews come to visit xxxx
