In the News

Sadly George alagiah has died from bowel cancer. Very sad. Must be hard for the news readers at the beeb to have announce it seeing as they all knew him.

Yes, I saw this last night and welled up as he seemed such a lovely guy. So so sad and makes you think, especially as he was younger than me. Thoughts with his family.

It's odd isn't it that never having met the man I felt like I had lost a friend, I was very sad when it was announced. I think many will feel the same.

Never heard of, but RIP.

And a soccer player at the age of 69 also died (of a heart attack). Dang, folks in their 60's is still a relatively young age to kick the bucket.

I used to watch him read the news quite a lot. So sad. He was a really good one.

Seemed a very decent person. Definitely too young. Even years ago when I had a TV license I didn't watch much BBC news reporting I have to admit but I vaguely remember him but reading about him on the BBC website yesterday certainly seems to indicate he had a strong moral compass.

Shame but have a lot of respect for him continuing to work throughout his illness.
