Who Gets up First in Your Home?
Ask a Question
I am probably always the first up. My son goes off to work at 7am. My husband gets up after 8am and my daughter a bit later due to health reasons. When my children were younger ( all four of them) I used to love the quiet times in the morning before they got up.
Never me, years ago we would both get up same time. Even though my husband has retired, early retirement, he still rises very early and goes to bed before me.
Leave home at 7.15am but I'm fundamentally a night person so it's murder getting up.I seldom go to bed before 1am as well. Old habits die hard.I sleep on buses more than in bed lol.
MelissaLee1 ...I fall asleep sat up on the settee & wake up between 4am-6am,I do chores, feed our 2 cats then make my partner a Latte before he goes off to work & then I go off to bed for a few hours if not working!
I'm always up first even if MrsChimp has work at 7am. I can't remember the last time I had a proper lie-in
TheChimp Do you enjoy a lie-in if you get the chance. I personally don’t. I think I have wasted part of my day.
eyeballkerry Once I wake up, I can't go back to sleep again, however much I try.
MrsChimp could sleep for Wales and naps throughout the day if she's not working
It's always my partner that is up first and very early too, i'm such not a morning person.
Me, I get up before myself every day, then I make me a cup of coffee before I get myself to work
Myself I tend to leave around 6am so up a few hours before. I tend to be the last one to bed too and every so often I can't sleep. the wife wonders why I get tired sometimes.
ch7leach Wow, when do you sleep? You must be absolutely shattered. Hope your not driving all day!
eyeballkerry sleep.... No idea what that is. Bed time is 9:30 but dont get there till 10 at least. Yeah I do get shattered
It depends, my husband is retired, but I still work, so unless he is playing golf, or it's a weekend and I can have a lay in, its me.
I am not a morning person, so l don't like to interact with anyone first thing in the morning, so when my son was younger, I used to get up earlier, to come around prior to having to make conversation.
beccatavender I struggle to have a lay in. Once I am awake which is around 6.30am then I will get up, I can’t just lay there and go back off.
eyeballkerry I love a lay in on the weekend, not having to get up, I may wake up, but can normally drift off. But then I do go to bed really late on Fridays and Saturdays, one or two o'clock in the morning plus those are the only nights I have a drink.
My 3 year old likes to get up very early, she's usually up by 4 or 5 and ready to play. I'm much more a evening person.
Midnightflower Your daughter is an early riser. I have four children, all grown up now but none of them got up that early.
I get up earliest. Sometimes my son will get up at the same time as me, others he will just sleep on. During the week I get up to make my husbands lunch and breakfast before I get our son ready nursery and me ready for work. At the weekends I get up whenever my son does.
If my other half is working then he's up first at 4.30am, if he's off then it will be me. Depending on the day it will be either 6am, 8am or whenever I wake up x
He always does, through the week for work and weekends . I tent to get up at a similar time but lay in bed for a while.
I am always up first, usually between 2 & 3 o'clock in the morning. Occasionally Mr T gets up at the same time but he sometimes has a lie in until 5am! When we were working we hated getting up early, it has all changed now.... just when you think you can lie in until whenever you want, your body clock changes?!
