Gluten Free Products in Supermarkets
Money Saving
Gluten-free food is really expensive, therefore... would you have any tips for hidden gems regarding gluten-free products in supermarkets for normal prices?
A lot of products in store are gluten free in the normal aisles without having to go to the free from aisle and pay over the top.
eyeballkerry You are talking about naturally gluten-free products. The free-from aisles are for products made gluten-free by manufacturing them that way.
Gluten-free products are made in dedicated gluten-free manufacturing facilities and on dedicated gluten-free equipment, which makes them less competitive and expensive to produce.
I know tomato soup is gluten free so can eat that from the normal aisles. I think almost all other soups have gluten in them so if you want variety you will have to get the ones from the special section
On occasion, the special isle in asda & morrisons have GF on special so keep a look out.
My 11 yr old is ana to gluten ingestion only thank god. X
Not really. It just really is more expensive. My husband is coeliac and it’s so noticeable. We have to change what we buy according to price and offers, look for yellow sticker items and often use the freezer more. When something is a good price we will buy quite a few of product before it goes up again.
