Going to the Saxon King for a Meal

Well it is my best friend of about 35 years birthday. Couldn't think what to buy her so it is dinner on me at the Saxon King. This place is built very near to the site of a burial ground thought to be of a Saxon king, hence the name
Seems strange i have never been before but am hoping the yummy sounding food on the menu is as good as it appears to be. Will let you know later.

Hi lynibis hope you have a lovely meal and time. It looks and sounds very good. Would love to go. I would all like to see burial grounds of the Saxon king. 
What a disappointment. Starter was fine but roast dinner was awful. The roast potatoes were dark coffee coloured pieces with no crispiness. The stuffing ball seemed like a ready made frozen one, the chicken meant to be rotisserie but did not fall away from bone. When served up the whole dinner was covered in congealed gravy. It seemed as if it was pre served on plate and then whacked in microwave!
Never mind Nicola, I will know to not go again. Unfortunately the Saxon kings burial place is just a grassy mound now and all the treasure is in museums but to be honest I didn't read that article so not sure of the details. 
Lynibis so sorry to hear your meal was not up to standers. It sounds all full. And the meal is dear. You would of been better of cooking the meal your self. Hope you don't feel unwell in the morning. ☹

Sorry to hear this. I was quite looking forward to hearing about your food experience this evening. I attended a birthday party today and, to be honest, I wasn't looking forward to the 'special burger' menu (it's just not my thing) I chose a chicken burger and it was truly amazing. I forfeited the brioche bun because it was a carnivore's dream topped with the tastiest of toppings. That was at lunchtime and I haven't wanted another morsel since.
