What Are the Best Dramas and Series to Watch on Netflix in 2023?
Ask a Question
Hello, Any good drama series or any series for 2023 on Netflix or any other channels
I have just seen a trailer for something on Amazon called The Rig which looks good. It stars Iain Glen (was in Game of Thrones) and Martin Compston (Line of Duty).
Lynibis Got this on my watch list, just finishing the final series of Dead to Me on Netflix first.
blacklabrador it caught my eye cos the ex used to work on the North sea rigs, but this looks as if it is more along the lines of supernatural.
Imnotcheap actually I have just read my comment again and feel it is a bit misleading. I forgot there was a drama called Supernatural so what I meant was the trailer indicated there were supernatural goings on in The Rig. If you like that sort of thing hopefully you will enjoy it.
Lynibis Yes I saw that and I'm definitely tempted, looks a bit of a sci-fi/supernatural thriller. But I don't like a series that goes on and on. If this is the first and last that suits me fine or maybe one more that concludes everything but I don't like it where a drama drags it out series after series. Comedy is a bit different as they are only half hour usually per episode.
Xenophon yes I agree, I have lost count of the series I have deserted half way through. I can manager 5 or 6 with 8 to 10 episodes. Sometimes they are a victim of their own success as they make more if they go down well but then it's downhill.
Actually I have now watched about 5 episodes of The Rig but am not finding it riveting. I did not realise when I started that it was sci-fi and that is not a genre I like. I am finding it dark and boring. I hope that doesn't put others off as it may be exactly what they like but anyone on here who knows my preferences knows that I am a sucker for anything historical, The Last Kingdom, Vikings, Black Sails, Versailles, Outlander etc.
Lynibis Yeah I've abandoned series in the past as they dragged it out to the point of boredom and/or frustration. I'm less tolerant than you as three is about my max. I gave up on Lost after three. Its name became very apt. And I'm glad I never started watching Peaky Blinders as that is about nine I think. Anything that goes on that long has turned into more of a soap for me.
It depends what sort of drama you enjoy. I recently watched Castle, crime drama, was excellent. S.W.A.T is also brilliant, so is Chicago PD.
Not really seen any new dramas that have caught my eye
MrsCraig Bones and only murders in the building are good ones if you like crime dramas.
Midnightflower I didn't actually like either of those! I tried to like Bones, but just wasn't for me.
At the moment I am watching ‘ The woman in the house across the street from the girl in the window’, highly recommend
If you really want to watch something funny and well made try BBC iPlayer EARLY DOORS. CRAIG CASH from the royal family is in it. Also one off called funeral director is a interested watch on Netflix or topboy. narcos . Knuckle.all very good to watch on Netflix
Another recommendation for Dead To Me, brilliant series. Good Girls and Love Life also good and on Netflix.
Not Netflix but Amazon prime but I'm quite enjoying Night Sky, another series cancelled after only 1 season and its a quirky light science fiction story that is extremely well acted with some good effects. I've only got 2 episodes to go but I've enjoyed more than many other recent series.
I binge watched the whole series of Marie Antoinette on BBC iplayer recently, it was much better than I expected. It ended ok but has left open for another series. Can't go on too long before she gets her head chopped off!!
The Stranger was a good one from 2022 if you havent seen it. Its a good thriller worth a watch,
