Happy August!

Just want to say hey to all the members on here! Hope you are all doing well! As we are getting heatwave days this summer hope you stay hydrated by drinking plenty of water and wear spf too
And to wish anyone who has their birthday this month to have a great time celebrating with family and friends!
Not my birthday this month, but such a lovely post. Thank you Kitty for reaching out to give us your best wishes. I've been on bed rest for a few weeks now. Loving all your little pics ~ hugs
EmmaWright762 aw thank you for taking the time to read my post~
Oh no are you okay? Take care and I hope you get better soon!!
EmmaWright762 ...Hope you are OK , I always look forward to your posts, sending hugs from Sheffield..
Take it easy, hope you are up & about soon,..xx
janphoenix51 Thanks Jan. I had a heart attack with stents fitted a couple of years ago, but it led to peripheral axonal distal neuropathy which isn't going to get better. However I still have a way to go when it comes increasing neural pain medicines, it's just a bit 'interesting' to say the least during the early weeks of the increase. We laugh and say I'm in 'a wibbly wobbly world of mine own' lol
Lol, I so much want to be happy and upbeat but as you will see from my topic just posted I am far from happy right now, though I desperately want to be. Nonetheless I really appreciate your lovely message and hope you have a lovely August, especially if it is your birthday.
EmmaWright762 thank you, must admit I have shed a few tears of frustration today and didn't help when my topic was taken down as being a duplicate. The first was about making old equipment safe to sell or dump security wise. The second was about the frustration of tech companies not listening when I have my internet dropping every few minutes. 3 times in 10 minutes this morning and how hard it is to get help, two totally different subjects.
I wouldn't mind but I also had an earlier one deleted about the Olympics opening ceremony and the poor lady Italian boxer, saying it was a duplicate. The only other one I can see is TelMels one on the metal the medals are made from. Of course I may have missed the originals but can't find them. Hey ho will write today off as a bad one and start fresh tomorrow, first time I have cried in years so thanks for the hug, it really did make me feel better
Lynibis Its not just you L , i have had three posts removed over two days
I wouldn't mind if it was because they were duplicates , but it was for other reasons i fail to understand even after editing one of them a few times
I was so angry i have asked it to be looked into , i don't know about you but i spend a fair bit of time concocting chat posts and try to inject a bit of humour sometimes, so it is always a huge disappointment when they are rejected , it makes you want to give up
Anyway rant over , at least this is a very nice post from K
telmel sorry to hear that, I always enjoy your posts and you have a great sense of humour. It does all seem rather random, especially when some people can post 3 in 10 minutes and 8 on more or less same topic lol.
I also have problems with comps, twice lately I get something at the bottom saying something is wrong make sure you say what you can win. It couldn't be clearer! I tried again next day, same wording and posted with no problem.
telmel oh really?!! Well thatโs annoying!! what were the reasons for them being removed?! Even after editing them?! Thatโs frustrating would make me angry too at the time! Yeah I do the same thing I think a lot about what to write for the chat topics too!!
Aw thank you so much for your kind words~
Lynibis I now seem to have been blocked from complaining about having posts removed L , just tried to ask why my talking chimpanzee post was refused again today and find i cannot enter my details
into the e mail
Here is the post if anyone is offended by it or any other reason please let me know
Scientists claim chimpanzees have the ability to speak human language
Other
Am i missing something here, of course apes can speak, i have watched the planet of the apes films !!
Only joking, maybe only in the films, but according to scientists some have the ability to speak words in real life, especially chimpanzees
A couple did rear a chimp in the 1940s called Viki, who had learned words like cup , up, and mama, so it was possible for a domestic chimpanzee to be taught human language even back then
They have also studied three other videos, suggesting that chimps could be taught to speak human words and are able to use their voice, jaw and lips to speak individual syllables
If they could speak it would be interesting to hear what they think of us humans, not much i would imagine , considering the state of the world
Maybe we should let them evolve more and take charge, they couldn't do any worse than those running things now
I imagine the first thing they would do is bring down the vat on nuts and bananas !!
And they may need to amend the rules on driving to avoid road rage
Not my Birthday month but have been enjoying the heatwave. Especially as yet to book a holiday so been getting tanned here trying to make the most of it.
Canโt believe itโs august already - itโll be Xmas and the end of 2024 before we know it
hspexy lol so fast the seasons comes and goes!! Just yesterday it was cloudy grey skies and chilly very windy and went to town put on a thin long sleeve top but all the walking got too hot so had to take it off everywhere you go no damn windows!! Good thing wore tshirt underneath lol
No birthdays in our family in August, which is good really. Gives us all a break from cards and presents. Loving the weather. Nice friendly post from you. Thanks.
eyeballkerry oh haha you must have been so busy buying so many gifts and birthday cards and going out to celebrate
It is nice weather but itโs too hot for me haha!
Aw thank you for your kinds words~
kitty88uk Not sure you read it right, as I said โno birthdaysโ in August, itโs a very quiet month for us. December is our busiest.
eyeballkerry oh haha so sorry my mistake read it wrong! Oh thatโs really a busy month! December birthdays and also lots of Xmas gifts to buy for your family and friends but it must be fun getting into the seasonal spirit of celebration lol
kitty88uk Unfortunately I do not like Christmas. I used to when the children were younger but really donโt like all the hype that goes with it. I try to get away before the run up to Christmas.
eyeballkerry oh?! Yeah did back when I was a kid too now as you get older you become less interested lol no idea why but I know what you mean
I donโt bother with putting up the bigger green Xmas tree just a small rose gold one in my room and decorate it however I want
Is that so, where do you try to get away to?
kitty88uk We hardly put up any decorations although we have a huge Christmas tree out the front which has been growing for years. We will be in the Canary Islands in the run up to this Christmas on a cruise. If is usually the canaries or the Caribbean but we will be on a Caribbean cruise in October.
eyeballkerry oh wow the tree will be growing so much! How tall is it now, can you share a photo?
Oh on a cruise that sounds fun what do you usually do?
kitty88uk I will sort out a photo later. This will be our eighth cruise since March 22. I recommend you never go on one as you get hooked! Joking aside we absolutely love them. So much to keep you entertained or not if you just want to relax on your own balcony.
eyeballkerry cool thanks look forward to seeing the photo of the tree !! What do you do on cruise and it must be packed with people!! I wonder how much it costs per person?
kitty88uk Once on the cruise you can do a variety of things such as use the pools, hot tubs, play sports, use the gym, join in quizzes, arts and crafts, dance classes. You can visit the art gallery, join in auctions, use the variety of shops. Enjoy the coffee shops, restaurants and bars. Play in the casino and be entertained by the shows at night. Comedians, ventriloquists, dances, magi Ianโs and much more. Or just relax and let the world go by. The ships are big but certain ones such as Brittania with P&O you will always find a quiet spot. This ship does not feel crowded by any means. As for cost we find they are one of better ones for value for money. We done the Caribbean for 2 weeks ยฃ1300 and 2 weeks Scandinavia for ยฃ865.
eyeballkerry oh wow that sounds like fun! So many things to do to keep busy! Do you meet a lot of people or prefer to keep to yourselves? Oh that doesnโt sound bad with the cost! Nice little getaway on a cruise
kitty88uk The good thing is you can mix with people or keep yourselves to yourselves. I enjoy meeting people and have actually kept in contact with a someone in Telford and someone in Southampton. We have also visited a both few times since coming back.
eyeballkerry thatโs so lovely thanks for having such a long chat with me on here! Nice to meet other members! And listening to their stories of their holiday travels! Did you manage to get a photo of the tree ?
kitty88uk I have the photos of the Christmas tree, sorry I forgot. The first photo of the tree is 2022 and the second one 2023. It is now even bigger, we are going to have problems getting the star on top.
eyeballkerry oh so pretty the Xmas tree and light decorations!! wow how much for it and how tall is it now? I have a small rose gold one for my room and have a lopsided cause I missing a plastic leg on the base itโs an old one for living room the lights change to different colours cause itโs led but donโt move anymore been broken for a long time lol
kitty88uk I have added another picture of the tree how it is now. So tall. But really looking healthy, unfortunately when we move we will have to leave it behind
eyeballkerry nice photo of the sunset and tree looks tall too! Oh is that so thatโs a shame! Moving to a bigger place? Thanks for sharing great photos!!
kitty88uk Not sure where we are to yet. We all things we want in a new home. My husband wants a double garage, our daughter wants a music room and a craft room. I would love a sun room. Plus my own bathroom. Ideally this would be abroad.
eyeballkerry is that so, a music room sounds awesome sun room is a patio right? We have one during the summer it gets too hot and very cold during winter ooh own bathroom is a must have lol
Oh! Abroad if so weโre would it be? Hope it all works out for you and your family!
kitty88uk The music room will be for drums, electric piano, guitars and ukulele. A sun room is an actual room but I want bi folding doors or at best sliding doors to open it up to the garden. Abroad we have looked at both Portugal and Lanzarote. But who knows, only time will tell.
eyeballkerry oh wow she plays a lot of different music instruments! Ah so itโs different to a patio. Ooh sliding doors sounds good! But they do break easily we have had our patio for probably over 20 years and it broke and cannot be closed properly! had people to come look they said parts too old and would need to knock down the whole patio and build a new one pfft wtf
