In the News

Reading this article. It's bonkers the stuff people have stolen. Scary as they are massive vehicles and dangerous to drive in the wrong hands.

Seems a ridiculously high level of thefts and again there seems little deterrent to the thieves. I remember reading BMW, Mercedes and Land Rover make up a huge percentage of thefts despite not being as common on the roads as many other brands because of poor reliability and very expensive parts, so a large amount of high value parts can be removed from them with a eager marketplace to buy them. Typically Japanese cars are less likely to be stolen due to less need for parts on the open market.

BonzoBanana It amazes me how these vehicles are stolen and never tracked

Surely it is not that expensive for every vehicle, high end or not to have a hidden tracker fitted ?

They are so tiny now and in most cases undetectable and cannot be that expensive

The only extra expense maybe the subscription to the tracking company

Maybe the government should create a free electronic database for tracking all stolen vehicles

It would reduce car crime and policing costs greatly
