Who was your Superhero when younger ? , mine was Batman

Ask a Question

This article was a fantastic read for me and very nostalgic

I was an avid fan of Batman back then and have seen most of the series starring Adam West who passed away in 2017 aged 88

A group of us as kids that lived in our street formed a Batman club and i remember writing to 20th Century Fox to tell them i was a great fan and how much i loved the show

I was astounded when i received a package from America a month or so later from Fox with a thank you letter and a full script of one of the episodes

How i wish i had kept this , who knows its' value today

Did you have a Superhero ?

It was definitely a fun series and movies. They didn't take themselves seriously at all. A bit before my childhood so I saw it much later as repeats. The series I remember most were in the 70s and early 80s. I was into Space 1999 and the Young Sentinels (later renamed Space Sentinels).

telmel I loved it at the beginning especially the black and white episodes but the later seasons got really lame with the talking carrot and other nonsense. It got a bit pantomime at the end. Generally I enjoyed Irwin Allen series like Land of the Giants, Time Tunnel, Lost in Space and a few others. The production values were always better than the scripts I thought. The Poseidon Adventure was a great disaster movie he did.

I used to love watching the re runs of batman and wonder woman on TV back in the 1980s. Even though it was kinda lame it was brilliant at the same time

Jerseydrew I must agree J, but they didn't have the technology of effects as they have now , yet as you say they still managed to make them well

janphoenix51 Those were the days J , i don't think it would be allowed today, some overzealous officer would probably pull me up and give me a ticket for breaking some traffic law

We did stop off for a pint of bat juice in a rough local , but didn't stay too long as we were getting some strange looks wearing the tights
