Holes in Your Clothes after Washing
Other
Finally I've found out what's causing the holes in my clothes after taking them out the washing machine... it's putting them on a fast spin over 1000 and packing them in too much
Thanks for the information as I thought it was due to the cheap fabric used for clothing. Years ago you’d get clothes that lasted from M&S but these days the fabric after washing your clothing have small holes.
Sugarbabe I agree with you about Marks. I have jumpers from 30 years ago that still look good, but recently I’ve had ones where the stitching has come undone after the first wear.
I used to really pack too much in my machine and now I’m more mindful of giving the clothes more space. Apparently you should be able to do a thumbs up at the top of the pile.
I also use laundry bags to put my more delicate items in to reduce friction.
I always do the bra up. I’ve had problems where the underwire has got out and damaged the machine and clothing.
Thank you! This is a great, I've been wondering what causes those holes for ages, I shall will be more careful with how much I wash now
Just seen your question, ok it’s taken me a year! But this happened to a lot of my clothes a while back but the holes were usually in the front of the garment. Still a bit of a mystery.
I won't be using my fast spin at 1400 ever again. I always thought I was squeezing out the last drop of water out of the clothes.
I've never used a really fast spin for clothes, it's either 600 or 800 is the highest I use.
Never had this happen but definitely something to consider, any holes i have in my clothes were always caused by moths
