Hi guys, have many people come to LatestDeals from HUKD due to the introduction of allowing companies to post deals?
This site looks good!
Deleted my account on that site a while back and came here.
LD is much better with a proper community.
And you get rewarded for contributing to LD which is an added bonus (I had a ยฃ35 Amazon gift card yesterday thanks to Tom and the gang), the other site gave normal members nothing.
I've swapped sides as HUKD is getting like the police. You can't have a good laugh and joke like you could years ago. If you post something that doesn't suit them, then you get this lovely message. Just a courtesy message to let you know you might notice a comment you made in the below thread missing as it was quoting a deleted comment. We tend to tidy a thread up when this happens or else comment replies do not make sense and it just messes with the flow of discussion. Latest Deals have a better laid out website that covers everything to help its members. Since joining i've got some really good bargains. 
Me! Been a member since 2009. Had various run-ins with mods over there the last couple of years over unfair, bias treatment. Today, one of their paid 'expert' posters basically stole one of my deals.
Posted the same deal as me not even 24 hours after at a lower price. Instead of allowing me to update the price on my original post (and me pointing out to mods I had already posted it), the mods unceremoniously expired it in favour of their paid expert's re-posting!!!
Pretty sure I'm not out of order taking issue with that. 
Not the "Hope it helps someone" expert?
I used to use that phrase, but I hate it since it's been overused so much to death with everything.
I donโt like the some of negativity on HUKD site where people vote an offer either + or -.
Although I have nothing to do with HUKD and rarely visit - I actually think that allowing negative ratings to deals gives the overall rating more validity.
Furthermore, as far as I know, as there is no reward for rating it doesn't encourage people to rate for no other reason than a reward.
Must be honest and say I take no notice of how many likes some things get on LD - I decide for myself as to whether it's a good or bad deal.
davidstockport To be fair members (I'm no longer one for over 2 years ) do actually give their opinions on deals often with a degree of knowledge . My biggest moan about LD is that members ( apart from me) rarely if ever give an opinion on a deal (apart from Aww my mum ,dad ,sister ,husband , dog etc would soooo love this 
) . Just for the points (and isn't it obvious !) .
I left the other site as most of the deals were games ,vinyls etc (always for 5p off a previous (often the same hour )) posting !
Since joining Latest Deals I have been totally frustrated by members using it to solely earn points . Rarely , if ever ,do we get a constructive opinion on a deal (unless I do ) . Missing a great opportunity to help members by validating (or not ) the numerous posts for points .
Honestly I would love to see "don't likes " But . Sadly members on here post non deals solely for points - not for kudos , so posters know they are posting non deals and would not be deterred by negative likes .
To be fair the business model appears to work for the site and to their credit the LD founders always seem to take note of my comments (tough rarely act on them )
Well, here they give you "heat" or nothing. S'pose it beats dragging deals thru the floor when they may be good, but without any heat.
Been around since 2016 ish when it was called Pedlar, but I registered on LD as a user mentioned it.
I still visit HUKD albeit as a guest. Too much censorship and Twitter-like nonsense over there.
Latest Deals could learn a lot from that site on what to do and what not to do ! Whatever the business model (Profit !) runs the roost . That's why as a member of Latest Deals I regularly ! add my opinion - hope it's useful ? Trouble is members on here , gaily posting rubbish just for the points never dare voice their opinions (if they actually have any 
) .
Golfforall We're singing from the same hymn sheet, I rarely comment on deals (I rarely use the like tab either). It's easy to see who the dodgy points gatherers are I sometimes wonder why the LD team permit some of them to rip them off.
I wish I could find it again but I saw one member commenting on a deal with something like "I've nothing to say about this deal but I want the points". He was one of the trolls from HUKD who came here just over a year ago when they got rid of the trouble makers. (some didn't delete their accounts they were banned).

It is very difficult for the LD team to monitor the comments on deals and I urge others who see such things to report them, I just wish I had.
I'm afraid members are their own worst enemy . Daren't say "Boo to the golden goose " in case they get barred an lose their precious Amazon points !
However , despite being outspoken and critical of Latest Deals on multiple occasions I'm sure they appreciate honest feedback . I'm sure they must get totally fed up with the fawning from members (which means nothing in a business sense ).
AS members we have to help and report . Latest Deals have the business plan that employs a minimum amount of people and replaces them with a "very ropey " algorithm with moderation and deal posting "bots" . Totally obvious to those of us with functional minds , but the "points for posting " majority of members seem to oblivious (or NFI) to the fact ?
That's the business model and it seems to work for Latest Deals - who am I to argue .
Golfforall I feel sorry for some of them if they need to lie and cheat to gain a few points, it appears some push things to the absolute limit. They might not realise they could be killing the goose that lays the golden eggs.
I visit both sites I do not care where the deal comes from, what matters is that we all are getting the best deals & 2 sites are better than one.
nissan3 agreed. I tend to find better Amazon deals here while other retailers over there.
Dalton95 the comment section on there looks weird now. They turned it to how it's on Reddit.
Joeydeacon (maybe misspelled his username) posted a lot of foreign PSN deals and after much criticism he deleted his account, but it was undeleted and then deleted again.
I particularly don't like foreign PSN deals as it requires multiple accounts although the criticism he got was excessive.
joeydeacon LD doesn't seem very focused on gaming and I'm thankful because I'd rather see non-gaming deals.
Anyway, good to see you around. 
I love this site itโs helping me make an extra ยฃ10 or so a month and Iโm finding some great deals and chat topics. I love it
Came here first for competitions and noticed that I was getting rewards as well . Love the sense of community and eclecticism. Like a one stop shop. I recently joined HOTUK after reading about it here but have not used it much if at all as yet.
SandraFitton if it wasn't thanks to LD I'd never have been aware of a deal on a tower power strip with 12 slots for ยฃ13~15 (price slightly reduced when on offer) and this has been extremely helpful.
PhilipMarc it is extremely helpful, I have 5 children, one of which is severely mentally disabled. This helps me find deals for Xmas presents, I tend to start in January for Xmas as Xmas can be very expensive
PhilipMarc I was saying the same thing to my family. You wonโt see Christmas lights outside many homes this year. 
PhilipMarc this is very true, the way finances are for everyone, I think everyone will feel the pressure this year, Iโm thinking of putting gas & electric on my Xmas list 
Just come from the other site. Some political activists have abused the site to re-post the same political literature again and again. Certain re-posts of political books sold on Amazon such as "The Ethnic Cleansing of Palestine " have been posted almost on a weekly basis since Oct 7. It will generate over 2000 degrees of heat very quickly even though there is no deal. Not hard to figure out why. How many times can you post the same book ?
The same is true for other products such as Palestinian dates which get over 2000 degrees of heat even though it's only a 15 % price reduction. Go figure
After a while, it gets a bit heated with arguments at which point HUKD stop any further comments but the post is still visible and generated even more unwarranted heat. HUKD does not give you the choice to block this type of content.
Yesterday some sad desperate activist even tried some mental gymnastics to twist a simple deal regarding an olive tree from Homebase into a political point about Palestine. He failed and the mods quickly deleted the post.
I know it's not a nice thing to say but I feel there is a lot of anti-semitism on HUKD. I have told them again and again but the mods don't do really do much.

Do not recommend this platform. Lot of bullying by the staff and antisemitism by members.

Compromised
Used to love this site. Now a lot of the deals are dubious, and the site has been compromised. Possible data risk etc. Final straw yesterday when a deal from overseas shall we say was clearly inflated for political purpose.
Avoid. Real shame.

Update : In the last 2 weeks made HUKD have made changes to the site that now allow users to block certain types of deals. They had too many complaints about political spam from people like me. Most of this spam was for Books/Ebooks on Amazon.
I can now opt out of the Culture and Leisure section so I don't have to view book deals like The Ethnic Cleansing of Palestine which is spammed almost on a weekly basis by activists such as EnaHia. The post is still there but at least now I have the choice not to view it which is fine by me.
It's not a perfect solution but at least it's a start. You can hide a users comments but you can't hide a deal they have posted. All you can do is filter out the catagory or sub catagory
anonamiss You are right, back when the site first started they stalked my name ( i didn't hide anything ) after posting a deal for a company I happened to work for, I just though the deal was very good. They banned me for a bit. It was the stalking behaviour that got me.
Everytime I post a deal now I get a few comments of ridicule and bullying, it's pathetic. The deals they have are mostly crap too, they just feel like advertisements.
Latest deals is the only one I use, I'm just coming upto 150,000 points. I'd recommend it to everyone.
Nope never been on HotUKDeals, I found this site by chance, no idea how I ended up here to be honest lol
I donโt remember where i found this site from and do use HDUk but am not a member there and do not interact in anyway. I saw that they have introduced a reward for posting deals over there but it seems a lot less fruitful there than on here (though points for posting super popular deals would be a good idea imo)
This is what UK deals has turned into. Apparently this Palestinan flag is a good deal so it deserves almost 1000 degrees of heat . Commenting on the post is blocked because too many people have complained. But HUKD as usual will just block any comments. You do not have the choice to block posts about Palestine so you have no choice but to see it in your feed
Go onto the site you will see it on the top right. You dont really have a choice
I much prefer Hotukdeals the layout of the website is much better a lot of stuff on latest deals just
shows a lot of cheap stuff & no quality.
I do like the reward system on latest deals but I always go to hotukdeals first.
If latest deals could introduce a better voting system like hotukdeals for hot & cold deals.
nissan3You posted 63 deals on HKUD and over 800 here, yet you prefer another site.
The voting system on another site is catered towards certain users, the same people post the same products over and over again just to earn a voucher. The system on another site just pushes their deals, and other people there post deals for free, at least on LatestDeals everyone earns their share, but with all great ideas you have some challenges like on LD where people post anything just to quickly earn their points. Someone should check deals before approval, but that would most likely create more work for them.
Voting system on HKUD is bad, it's enough for 2-3 users who posted more deals to downvote a fresh user with their -5, -6 individual votes. Imagine you posted a deal and you can only vote +1, 2 or +3 and then 3 people vote it cold so it's already a cold deal, every next person will vote it cold. Same goes for hot deals. People see hot and vote hot. So unfortunately it's not a fair voting system there I am afraid. Some sit there all day and just wait for you to post just to vote it cold.
HUKD was great in the past, but now as it's so much commercialized it's just the same stream of reposted deals. It has to be a bad situation there with all the negative reviews and the fact that their owner from Germany takes his time to reply to individual users. Should also add that if you read some of the comments he left you will not be surprised that mods act the exact same way. Lead by example is a term to learn
SebK84 True I have posted a lot of deals in the past but have got so fed up with this site I now don't hardly post any as I'm so fed up with the amount of rubbish deals people are posting just to earn points.
I do still use this site but don't hardly post any deals on here very often but I still prefer hotukdeals.
My partner was on Hot Uk Deals but left and joined here with me when he seen how much better Latest Deals was . I have been a member for many years now and I still love it
