'Human Hand' Found on Beach - or Was It?
In the News
South Wales Police received a report of a member of the public who had taken photographs of a "human hand" sticking out of the sand. Gareth Richards, who runs the Gower Seal Group and police tracked down the 'hand' after 4 hours but it turned out to be a rear flipper of a North Atlantic grey seal.
What would you have done? Reported it or walked on because it was either none of your business, you wouldn't want to get involved, or you didn't want to be embarrassed at being wrong? news.sky.com/story/human-hand-found-on-beach-sparks-police-response-but-all-is-not-as-it-seems-13187267
Hmm well i certainly wouldn’t just walk away if i had a legitimate belief it was a human hand. I don’t think it would be too embarrassing if the people who come to check agree that it looked like what he said it did.
jms19 It would be so macarb. I would definitely report it myself if I thought there was a chance it was a human hand as it could end up being identified as part of someone who had been missing and the relatives not knowing if they were alive or dead.
I'd poke it with a stick lol seriously though if I thought it was a human remain I'd report it
In Asia there is a plant called dead man's fingers it looks much more sinister than that 'human hand' which looks mammalian.
MelissaLee1 WOW, that is really horrible. Might save this picture and use it nearer to halloween.
Double down with a corpse plant (Titanium Arum)which looks like a phallus and smells like rotting carrion apparently!
MelissaLee1 You really know your plants Melissa. Well, hmm, that doesn't look like a hand lol and I'm grateful to be able to say I have never seen a phallus that looked like that or smelly like it was rotting lol. You made me laugh Mellissa - thank you
