Holidays - Do You Book A Package Or Separately?
Ask a Question
When you are booking a holiday abroad, do you prefer to book things separately or go for a package or all inclusive?
I never pay for all-inclusive when I want to go out to visit the place (which happens in 99% of the cases).
"Eat Where the Locals Eat"
Both All-inclusive/Package or independent/separate flight:accommodation are right; it depends what the visitor wants/feels comfortable with.
We go far east Malaysia & Thailand. We have been going for years and a fair few years before covid we booked flights, transfers and hotel direct we saved £1200/£1600 each 3 week holiday [we go twice a year]. But since covid we have lost confidence doing it so we have booked with Travelbag. We looked at booking it ourselves again last year but the whole holiday with Travelbag cost a lot less than what the hotel wanted to charge. Our flights have doubled in price and our usual hotel shut down so more expensive all round.
100% separate!!
We book flights and villa separately as it works out cheaper, definitely agree, eat where the locals eat and give money back to the local area.
For years I always booked separately and never had any problems and always saved money. I now go cruising a lot which is fully inclusive.
separately I like to venture. I have been on package holidays before and they were fine to relax and go on a few executions but it is nice to eat when I want and do what I want. Great for families however.
I used to book accommodation and flights separately but you get better protection if it’s a package.
Usually separate, although if possible it’s worth looking at both ways. I think it also depends on what kind of holiday. With city breaks, I’d say separate. If you’re looking for an all inclusive beach holiday I’d look at separate or package but I’d imagine package may be cheaper, especially if it includes airport transfers.
It’s also always worth looking on different sites for hotels. Direct may be cheaper than booking .com etc in some cases but not others.
Separately since i stay primarily in hostels which travel agents etc obviously don’t sell beds at.
I've never actually booked a holiday abroad. I've been on plenty of foreign holidays, but that was when I was younger. Haven't been abroad for 13 years. I go on holiday in the UK, usually Northern Ireland and we always book separately.
