Interesting Things to Invest In.
Other
I'm looking for interesting things to invest in. I thought we could make a list with this new thread. Ill start..
You can buy a carparking space at an airport that is automatically rented out.
You can invest in Whisky
You can buy gold bars and invest that way...
Unfortunately for most ideas you need your own specialist knowledge . Whiskey , wine , art ,watches , jewellery can go up in value (or tank) so no good for an "amateur " . Gold isn't really an investment more a hedge against inflation . Airport car parking spaces , similar to holiday static caravans , student accommodation etc ,the management /admin fees make it unprofitable .
There are many companies in all these sectors offering get rich quick schemes in all the sectors I have mentioned - most of which are scams or bordering on scams .
Ask yourself why any company would let you into a "good thing" ? If it's a legit company with a good idea they can get finance easily enough from a bank or venture capital .
I have looked closely at various "schemes" in the past and none pass serious scrutiny . I stick with the Stock market , I don't always get it right but at least it is tightly regulated and above board .
SebK84 Even more today , Bitcoin up to $82000 . That's another thing I would never invest in as I don't have the benefit of hindsight .
I didn't know you could buy a parking space at an airport to rent out. That sounds super interesting!
I always stand by gold tbh, yes prices can drop but inevitably it will always go back up just because of how popular it is imo
Premium Bonds of course. I enjoy the thrill of waiting each month to see if I have won £25 minimum or not.
So far, I haven't won anything since last August, but I don't mind bit. The money I have won per year is more than what I would have earned in bank interest.
I have always collected stamps and coins and have some going back to reign of Victoria. Interesting fact, postal service began in 1837, the year she came to the throne.
