It's none of the government's business what people do with their passwords and/or if they share their account with someone else.
If they'd reform the TV License to being a BBC Subscription, then they'd be doing something useful for the customers.

It's a lot like folks who think if you own a TV then you must have a TV License... No, that's not how it works, but scaring folks with TVL trolls knocking at the door and penalties make them act as such.

I see they updated to include ITVX which does include live streaming though that's optional as other content is VoD. I ought to download the app and try it with DNS66/Blokada 5 (blocks ads) to see if shows/movies play without ads.

I remember using IPTV at family member's house with over 10k+ channels, but I couldn't find anything interesting worth watching.

telmel The point of streaming services were to be convenient, an all-in-one package but now there's a wave of them:
Disney+, HBO Max, Paramount+, Britbox (who actually uses this lol), Hulu, BBC iPlayer (TV License required), Prime Video, Peacock, Apple TV+, Showtime, CBS All Access, etc...
That gets expensive at the end of the month with all those subscriptions. Me? I just stick with YouTube, other free streaming services, and so on.
Don't have a TV licence, not for three years now. Got to the stage the only thing I ever watched was Match of the Day and not paying £154 to watch that. The rest has become a load of woke politically correct propaganda forced down your throat. And I agree with PhilipMarc the BBC should be a subscription service.
It should be a crime that the BBC prevents people watching other live channels that are not funded by the TV license. ITV is funded by advertising and the TV license damages their income because many would watch their live channels regularly if it was legal to do so without a TV license. The crime is the BBC TV license. If I find a live tv channel on the internet perhaps from the other side of the world, Peru lets say its illegal for me to watch it because I don't have a TV license, that makes no sense in any moral or legal way. The BBC should be funded by advertising just like ITV. A huge amount of the TV license is just paying towards BBC pension funds as they have had a shortfall for many years and a history of giving themselves excessive pensions as well as wages in general and the BBC is incredibly inefficient.
I can't imagine ever paying for the TV license ever again.
We don't gave a TV license. It just seemed pointless when a lot if it will be added to YouTube later to watch for free. We use streaming services but make use of free trials
