It's My Big Birthday - How Should I Celebrate?
Ask a Question
It's my big birthday this Friday and was wondering what you guys would recommend to do to celebrate it or be able to receive any deals/freebies at home. I'm in the clinically vulnerable category and I've been extremely nervous about the virus and haven't been venturing out. What can I do to make my birthday brighter
Thanks
P.S I don't generally celebrate my birthday but I've had a bad couple of years with different health issues arising and wanted to cheer myself up and do something
Congrats on your 70th! Do you have friends and space to enable a socially Distance gathering? Check out latest deals for freebies or maybe a discount on something you’ve been eying up. But also shop about beyond here what one place stages as deals doesn’t always prove kosher. It’s too often here.
Happy Birthday for Friday.
Put your celebrations on hold until you feel comfortable. All your friends and family will understand after all we’re living through a pandemic.
Or send friends and family a bottle of bubbly, cava, Prosecco, champagne and hold a zoom meeting and agree a time to pop those corks.
Oh it's hard for people with such events if they were normally having big celebration...have a big party later maybe but do lots to treat yourself , nice food , best clothing on ,maybe get new outfit, try and do what you like doing best.Is it your eighteenth?
Thanks Sarahvwomble. I wish I was 18 again. Was in a better health condition back then. I turn 40 on Friday
This has lots of birthday linked freebies..https://www.moneysavingexpert.com/deals/birthday-freebies-discounts/
Congratulations on 21st Billie
Is there somewhere local that could deliver an afternoon tea to you? And you could get some Prosecco if you drink alcohol?
Sarahvwomble has sent you a great link.
Enjoy the day
Thanks gerrykelly25. 21? I wish. I will look up for afternoon tea. Rarely drink alcohol
chelseaturpin happy early birthday to you too. Hope you have a lovely day. How old will you be
I would personally have a garden party and get people to bring a plate of food, I too have a low immune system and have to be careful around other people. Happy Birthday
eyeballkerry that would be a lovely idea but there's one problem with it, I don't have a garden
Billie Way before Covid I arranged for my husbands family to meet us in Greenwich park to have a picnic, it was a great day and everyone bought their own food. Have you got a green area near you?
eyeballkerry that's a good idea and I'll consider that but I'm nervous of venturing out. If I'm brave enough I might organise that for the weekend if the weather's nice
On my birthday I went online shopping and just bought myself a few things I’d had my eye on for a while (And a few extra things I just saw at the time!). It was fun, and made it feel like it lasted longer since I kept getting packages in the mail!
Order a wee buffet for yourself and anyone else you live with or afternoon tea, get dolled up, get a bottle of Prosecco and have a lovely afternoon, and put your feet up x
Do what ever makes you happy if that's sitting down and watching your favourite film or singing at the top of your voice, just do it!
Make memories! You can't waste the rest of your life being scared anymore.
A garden party would be perfect, especially if you have friends / family with a big garden
If it's a small gathering could you all take rapid flow tests or depending where you are no system test
HappyTravels eyeballkerry cocolgooh TheChimp gerrykelly25 juliepixiel sunny101 thank you all of my birthday messages. Had a nice day celebrating it with the bestie with a nice takeaway watching a movie and online shopping. Going to see my family tomorrow. Oh and
rossruby1977 I couldn't have a birthday without jelly and icecream. That would be against the law
