John Lewis Never Knowingly Undersold Price Promise Returns 9th September
Other
It’s coming back. Never Knowingly Undersold is to be reimagined from next week (Monday, 9 September), giving customers the John Lewis assurance on quality, service and price, with a promise that matches prices in store and now online with 25 retailers.
For the first time, the pledge will also cover online sales, having previously only applied to in-store purchases, and will use AI to compare prices with 25 major retailers.
Around 30,000 prices will change next week as a result of the move. John Lewus are expected to push this heavily, from Monday (9th September) and a welcome to price matching again, as usually have good guarantees, with a minimum 2 year guarantee now included on all electricals, 5 years on TVs, and 25 years on John Lewis & Partners sofa frames - at no extra cost.
If the price is lower, they will then be matched by John Lewis. The move gives customers peace of mind that they're getting great value - with money back if they find it cheaper at one of those 25 brands within seven days.
A new brand campaign will be launched nationally from 19 September, featuring actor Samantha Morton and music artist Laura Mvula, celebrating 100 years of Never Knowingly Undersold.

Thank you for sharing always helpful, as they are pricey especially when looking at big ticket items . Got to purchase fridge freezer and hoover very soon so good news for me.
A word of warning regarding John Lewis aftercare or guarantee. They use "substandard" repair companies or self-employed contracted tradesmen. The review of these tradesmen is usually 1 star. I will stick to Curry's repair staff who are all first class trained.
This is really good news. I shop a lot in John Lewis as my husband is a partner. But the quality and customer service is so much better than other shops.
Difficult to match Currys as they often have their own specific models which slightly changed model numbers. However in the past did get a price match for a Samsung plasma TV unfortunately it had issues and had to go back. My brother bought a price match Plasma TV from John Lewis and that saved about £70 plus got a free 5 year warranty into the mix too. However I wanted a 3D tv using passive technology a few years ago and John Lewis only did expensive LG models at the time so had to look elsewhere and a recent TCL TV was only £230 through ebay with use of a code. I guess John Lewis could be useful for those who buy more mid-range and high end products looking for a discount.
It’s about time. I’m glad they are bringing it back, as it was a shock to remove it previously
