Do Your Kids Take a Drink into School?

Ask a Question

Are your kids allowed to take a drink into school? 🌞

When I was in school, we were only allowed a drink at breaktimes and lunch and it was allowed to be a bottle of pop. Now, most schools let you have one in the classroom but limit it to only water.

My child has a big water bottle that she has to take into school but my daughter will only drink flavored water because she's soooo fussy

Our grandaughter carries a bottle to school with her filled with water. She regularly fills this up throughout the day and this keeps her hydrated

We expect children to bring water bottles in. Officially they have to be just water. Unofficially I turn a blind eye to squash as I'd rather a kid drink squash rather dehydrate. Some staff in some settings have been known to pour the squash out and refill the bottle with water. Some staff in some settings have been known to not let kids refill their water bottles. Personally when at work (I work with kids and in schools) I don't care how many times they fill their bottle up. I encourage them to drink.

I'm a teacher and in our school the kids can have a water bottle in class and drink from it whenever they want. My son takes a water bottle to nursery. I let the kids drink whatever they happen to have with them as I would rather they were drinking than getting dehydrated and passing out, which has happened before.

Yes I agree it’s good that children of today seem to be drinking a lot of water. As a child at the end of the war we mainly drank Pop, full of sugar, maybe that’s why my teeth Are all gradually falling out!

Yes, my child has two bottle they take in - one with plain water and one with a flavour added (because he wasn't used to water previously but is getting there).

My son takes a clear bottle of water with him, it was half filled with ice cubes this morning. The school only allows clear bottles and water, which is fine x
