pamtayI like Amazon deals and buy a lot from Amazon , but 99% Sold and dispatched by Amazon, If I have to buy from Amazon or any High street retailer I will choose Amazon If the price is the same, simply for their great customer service and willingness to rectify any issue. Try to sort things with JL for example, their cs is terrible. I also try not to buy from M.A. Empire.

My honest opinion is that there are a lot of tat posted at high prices from 3rd party, mostly Asian resellers on Amazon. You can buy these products for a fraction from China - Alliexpress, Temu, or even sometimes from Ebay. It's not the problem that someone likes to buy these products or not, but the price should be the main target and with google search, keepa or camelcamelcamel you can simply check the prices.

Let's give an example- 5 pack of socks - posted for £6 down from £12, where the same socks cost £1.5 on Temu.

Another example are 3rd party unsafe electrical items, 90% of the time phone chargers, posted at all possible prices. People should learned from the past fires like even the recent fire in East London's tower block where fire was caused by a lithium battery.

Main issue is that LD Hunters and some some deal posters (not all but many) spam site with deals which are not deals, at high price, or even when price increases they still re-post it the same day at higher price and as their deals are promoted getting a lot of heat. We should be able to down vote these deals with thumbs down, at the moment thumb down do nothing, doesn't take points out.

=============================================================

Tom there are a lot of outdated info in deals, like for example some delivery charges, maybe it's time for latestdeals to allow delivery cost to be added to the title or next to the price?

Tom We realise that Latest Deals is an advertising site and you have to make money . Surely you realise the change (since July ish ?) to allow Momando , Amazon and others direct access to the site (via fictitious LD Hunters ) is a mistake .

Effectively you are allowing these companies to spam the site (no one appears to be monitoring) and it is so obvious . Looking from afar I at first thought it was a move towards artificial intelligence (AI) but it rapidly became obvious that there was no intelligence involved (artificial or otherwise ! ) .

If I can spot dozens of non deals/duplicates a day in about 20 minutes browsing (indeed yesterday I reported over 30 ) surely your moderation team could do similar ?

To be fair today during my 10 minute browse I only spotted about 6 so perhaps the message is getting through ?

SebK84 You make some very good points . To be fair to Latest Deals they can only trust that Amazon do their own due diligence on items they sell , sadly as Which reports they do not ! Dodgy Chinese batteries is the obvious one , the latest is Halloween costumes and Halloween tat which can blaze up at the merest proximity to a naked flame (cigarette , fire ,gas oven etc ) .

Obviously Latest Deals cannot be expected to check everything , indeed they appear not to even check for duplicates . How is it that it is flagged if I should try to post a dupe , yet Deal Hunters appear to post dozens of dupes daily ? Nuff said for now .

intherealworld There is one hunter in particular who posted over 130 deals just today. Now Idk if that's a real person or a bot but the site is spammed with deals posted by that person.

Now add other hunters which don't even care to check Amazon prices on 3camels or keepa and post at any price and not the lowest.

Plus Deal posters which post first deals they can find on a retailer's website. it doesn't matter if its cheaper elsewhere or at rrp just to earn points.

Problem is IMHO a moderation which cannot cope with the stream of deals. Also I think site should only allow deals from 3rd party if the seller is established with good reviews. Atm so many deals from Chinese dropshippers with zero reviews and with questionable quality products.

I think site would benefit from Only allowing products sold and dispatched by Amazon or well known 3rd party retailers / established sellers.

Site could potentially make more money from affiliate links if they removed bad deals and I do believe the intention of the founders was to provide great deals for the community when they created the site.

I scroll past 80% of the deals as they are simply tat for points and I do believe many do the same

Tom I did report it within hour of posting but things happen,I’ll certainly keep my eye out for duplicates & keep reporting as it clogs up so many pages with duplicates but I’ll keep track of the duplicates I report if posted by a mod too, fairs fair I’d like to think it’s that kind of site.

I was on the other HD site for years as a top poster but lost heart as got constant private messages to find things cheaper for other posters privately thus I like this site as no private messaging 👍🏽

SebK84 hello you posted a link with a general title football poppies of which there are several and one person posted an individual one which is allowed in the guidelines. Much like when other people before you posted Milton Lloyd fragrances and then you posted a link after that with the subscribe and save price linking to all and they didn’t report your deal. I Hope this clears things up thank you

Looking at the length of this thread I would say pages would be a good option to have so such long threads are split up and easier to read and you can just click the last page to see the latest comments rather than wait for the page to eventually load.

Also we still need a delivery cost section on the deal listing page. There are still so many deals here that are fake because there is forced postage and those should always be clearly shown in a deal. I don't know of any other deals site where they don't state postage. You can't really buy anything from Mike Ashley's companies without paying postage on top.

BonzoBanana You just need to click on see recent and it will take you straight to the last comment or if you browse on the phone then right under the chat topic next to 'What do you think of this?' +20 points is a - V - click on it and it will take you to the last comment.

BonzoBanana Similar to many so called deals . It's may not be a deal when you have to pay £5 to £8 P&P . On this topic you can click on "see recent" to get to the latest comments (at least on a computer ) . On the +ve and -ve click box it is a waste of time as -ve votes are excluded , but +ve clicks are added . Similar to a Chinese election .

I would make it so people who find a deal you've posted for less at another retailer can just add a link to the deal to your post (if it's been posted here anyway) and select the retailer from a list, but can't add a comment. I say this because twice in a few days I've had one rude comment telling me the deal I posted wasn't a deal (not good enough for them, as if they get to decide what classifies as a deal for everyone!) and how I'm posting for points and another with a smart comment making it known it costs less elsewhere. Not everyone shops in the same place so great that there are different reduced price points but I really don't want to have to keep dealing with rude and ignorant comments here (yes, I do mute).

Consumer If you are talking about your MCvities deal, then it's not a deal as the price is lower in many places and £2.5 seems like a standard price in most supermarkets.

Nothing rude in telling the truth but I can imagine you would prefer fake thank you and some ai written comments glorifying your deals.

SebK84 I think the clue is in the site name "Latest Deals " ? Too many members appear to think that posting "run of the mill" prices from Amazon , Supermarkets and other retailers is OK , yet they presumably come on here to find good deals ? expecting other members to post them ?

It helps no one (including the poster ) if we have to pretend that non deals are good deals . -ve to a "non deal" has no effect as only +ve votes are displayed .

If -ve votes were displayed (letting the membership's views on a deal be seen ) then it would help deal posters understand what is widely seen as a good deal ... and what is not .

SebK84 You imagine incorrectly which is often the case when you have nothing better to do than make assumptions. Obviously, a certain price reduction will indicate a deal for that retailer. There isn't an expectation that before posting a deal you check prices of every other retailer first.

Consumer It's not assumptions but facts. It's either a deal or not. Not expectations but if you want to be a deal poster then post a deals not product allocations and be ready for a criticism not only a praise.

Consumer As I pointed out politely on your "non deal" post for the biscuits - you had posted the identical item 10% cheaper a few days earlier from a different Supermarket . Did you not remember ? Or do you just blindly post items from Supermarket websites ?

Top tip - when in a hole stop digging and try to at least do minimal research to minimise your non deals .

A lot of Amazon deals are expired as site always link to the lowest price. Sometimes it doesn't make sense when you post a genuine cable sold and dispatched by Amazon and site link to products sold and dispatched by 3rd party. Another annoying thing is that people expiring deals even though you put info in description with explanation where to find it..

Another example are shoes with multiple sizes posted under one deal. You can post link to drop down menu but site will automatically link to first size from drop down menu. If you post all sizes available and link to the first size then people will expire those deals even though sizes are available.

Additionally when they think deals are expired they lock it.

There is so much that needs to improve on this site it's hard to know where to begin. It needs a complete overhaul and a new improved AI system for Bot identification and removal for starters. Much more moderation needed for Posts.

I've lost count of the times I have Notifications about comments I've made not being my own, when I always make a point of writing my own comments and I take considerable time to do so.

Another issue is the fact that Points are not awarded for input.

I guarantee that I will get no Points for this comment even though it clearly states above "What do you think of this? +20 Points".

I personally would like to see the outlay in Amazon vouchers be redirected to employing a moderator or two . Surely members wish to share their expertise , advice and great deals they find for the benefit of the community - not for earning Amazon vouchers ? By effectively "paying" members to post any old duff offer it just encourages all the non deals we see by the bucketload every day .

Without efficient moderation the site goes exponentially downhill as more and more people treat it as a voucher earning site .

I think some of the rules about posting need to be clearer. I have previously posted cashback deals in the freebies section and been told these are not accepted. However these deals have been posted by others and been ok, are they allowed or not?

Same with posting “local” events, i have posted competitions which included stays at places but no travel and been told these aren’t allowed, however i have seen tickets for events in london only that have been allowed.

I think both of these things need to be clearer cause i can’t understand why posts were previously removed only for similar (and actually one post from the same company) posts to be ok.

jms19 Hi you can find a copy of our guidelines here >> www.latestdeals.co.uk/guidelines

With freebies, we ask they are free but we allow a small postage charge but if you need to buy and claim the money back this is not guaranteed so we ask that they are shared as a deal like the Shopmium deals. If you see a cashback deal in the freebies section, please do report it and it will get reviewed and removed.

"Freebies should be free. If you've found a freebie that requires a spend (e.g. spend £30 get a free cuddly toy) or relies on cashback please share this as a deal instead."

With local comps, yes you are right we allow them if travel and / or accommodation is included but not if they aren't. Again, if you see any that you think need looking into, please report by clicking the three buttons on the top right, you can use other and leave us a note.

I hope this helps clear a few things up but you can also always tag me by using @ and my username as well.

Thank you 🙂

Giving people chance to collect the bonus points, by extending the time between them.

Unless you’re on top of your phone (and believe me, I spent months in hospital with nothing else to do) then you can’t get every point every day. Even when I was watching my phone like a madwoman (being bedridden for months can do that) I only got an eight, possibly nine day streak at best. Then I must have been distracted for about 30 seconds and my streak was gone. This has happened to me at least four times now where I’ve got to about five points and the next time I sign in, they’ve gone. And then I’m thinking it has to be a glitch because I know damn well I hadn’t gone longer than a full day - hadn’t gone longer than eight hours even - and I’ve lost all my little gold coins, which is frustrating as hell. Putting it mildly.

THEN I get the ‘invite a friend’ reminder… Yeah, but no thanks. Once upon a time I was bigging this app up to everyone, now I’ve lost all the coin streaks I’m starting to think it’s a deliberate act to stop people from collecting points too quickly. I’ve 9% of points to get before my next reward and once I’ve got that, I’m outta here 🫡

The pancakealien bot is out of order, 118 deals in the last 10h alone, I think it will be easier to open the Amazon website and look there directly, as I honestly think that there are more Amazon products posted here than on Amazon directly. Perhaps put an algorithm for that bot to cross check prices on Keepa and 3camels before posting here as many deals are just product allocation like Celebrations chocolate deal from yesterday. You don't have to have all Amazon products on your site is it?

elfleur98 I think that some of the people believe that as the site is called Latestdeals they can post any deals as long as the price dropped. Best examples now are PS5 deals, people post at any price as long as price drops. I think moderation should pick on bad deals. I do report bad deals but they don't remove them even though I on many occasions send them links with cheaper prices. Unfortunately nothing can be done unless moderation improves their approach.
