Can I Legally Drive with No Wing Mirror?
Help
So I stupidly broke my wing mirror reversing into my sister's drive and I can't get a replacement anywhere immediately, Iv got to order it online can I still drive without it? Not sure from looking online I get conflicting advise. All other mirrors are fine.
Not necessarily illegal but you may be stopped and charged for driving without having it in order.
Besides, you're putting yourself and others at risk.
I know it's really not ideal but I have to go work, I took today off to try and sort it unsuccessfully
From what I've been told is that you leagally have to have at least two mirrors on your car. The drivers side one and either the passenger side one or the one in the middle. Sorry if it turns out this is wrong.
If you are involved in a road incident without a wing mirror it could have a negative impact on any insurance claim.
Here's the legal chapter and verse position:

You must have a internal rear view and offside wing mirror, both nearside and offside wing mirrors or all 3 mirrors
Thanks everyone it is my passenger side mirror, I have to drive on the motorway to get to work so iv decided to work from home until it's delivered, although not ideal luckily my boss has let me. Where I work has multi lane roundabouts that are bad enough with all your mirrors!!
It's not illegal but if in doubt best to research the law regarding this. I am not a lawyer so don't want to give you advice in case I'm wrong. Basically you need at least two mirrors intact.
I think if u are at work and someone takes your mirror away before u finish your shift, you will still need to drive home and u can not replace the mirror instantly....
