Lioness with Shellshock Rescued from Ukraine by British Animal Sanctuary

In the News

This is a heartwarming story with all the bad things happening to the Ukraine people

It's good to hear some of the animals involved in the conflict are not being neglected and are being looked after by an animal charity

One lioness suffering shellshock and malnourished is being sent to the UK , Kent, to live out her life

Yuna and male lion Rori are both being moved , but Rori will go to Belgium firstly

The next to rescued are some lion cubs that will join Ruri

The charities Wild Animal Rescue and the International Fund for Animal Welfare are doing an excellent job

Hopefully they will recover from the psychological trauma too

I saw this on tv today and although nothing bad was said about the Ukrainians and the way they had kept these animals, I sensed that Yuni especially had been kept 'for years' in a 2x4 metre concrete cell never feeling grass under her feet. But as news agencies never seem to let facts interfere in their stories I will not jump to conclusions.

I must admit I was more interested in this on the same page.

www.dailyactunews.com/smart-tv-uk about a free to use tv box after initially purchasing, wondering if it's a scam (as I do about everything these days).

Lynibis I tried clicking on the link L and it comes up 404 error

I am sure animals in some other countries are not treated as humanely as in the UK , as far as zoos etc are concerned anyway, so it would not surprise me if you were correct in thinking this

telmel yes I only left that bit in as the link went on for nearly a full page and I was a bit worried so deleted it. But the story is accessed on same page as the lion story and shows a hand holding a gadget with a usb hanging from it. PhilipMarc is good with tech so may shed some light.

Lynibis Yes P would be more likely to shed some light on this L , the background in the photo looks to be abroad with the palm trees etc, so possibly not a UK product

Regarding the lion, lioness and cubs , lets hope they have a good life wherever they end up

I saw that today on the news, very happy for the lioness but also if she’s shellshocked imagine how the people over there are feeling 😢
