How Long Have You Lived in Your Present Home?

Ask a Question

We have been in our present exactly 20 years today. We moved in on Friday the 13th. I was really unwell and could not help on the day.

I moved in or took ownership on April 1st 2006 I'm not sure which it was so have been here over 18 years. Unless I win the lottery I have no plans to move.

BonzoBanana I moved home on the 1st April 1985. We also joked about the date and then my next move was Friday the 13th.

22 years April gone . Moved with a 6 week old & 2 year old. How I was functioning enough to move being as sleep deprived as I was I have no idea. Definition of auto pilot.

I said on here before but when we moved in everything was green. Walls, floors, bathroom, even down to cutlery left in drawer. Took us a few years to get rid of it all. The place needed alot of work but we got it for a great price & knew it was a project. Love our home now tho.

Glitterandgold When we moved twenty years we had four children. A two year old, a five year old, a ten year old and twelve year old. I don’t know how we managed to move but we did.

Moved in March 2007 and by the end of that year had knocked through to garage to add a diner to kitchen and fitted a new kitchen.

Lynibis That’s the way to do it. When we moved in twenty years ago my husband knocked through the bathroom and toilet not long after we had moved in. Looking to move again but do not think we will find the perfect home for us so will have to do some work.

We've been in our house for 3 years now. Was at our previous house for nearly 6 years before we moved. No plans to move again.

Over 16 years ago.But things have changed so much in that time.So many people and so crowded in London these days and way too many selfish short tempered people.Great for commuting but I'd happily move some place rural and quaint if money made possible.

Bought my house nearly 25 years ago and moved in March 2000. Things have definitely changed as when I first filled my oil tank it was 14p a litre and last week I paid 57p a litre. Even though I was on less income all those years back but I had some disposable income whereas now I don’t.

eyeballkerry how come she moved next door to where she was

My home was an ex authority house, mum got diagnosed with terminal cancer so we bought the house and built an annexe on the side. It meant that she had all the help she needed but also have her privacy. We had walkie talkies so she could contact me at any time. Her annexe was like a house of her own with front door - but still had a connecting from kitchen to kitchen.

I have lived in my present home for nearly 20 years and the previous one for the same amount of time so you can guess how old I am! We sold up in the UK and came to live here in the Canary Islands and have never regretted it.

SueWard You are living my dream. When did you move to Canary Islands and which one? We viewed homes before Covid in Lanzarote.

eyeballkerry We moved 20 years ago and live on the island of Fuerteventura next to Lanzarote. We live in a village in the north of the island which is very multicultural. Caleta de Fuste half way down the island is favoured by the English and Jandia in the south by the Germans. It is a long thin island with golden beaches and azure seas and very welcoming.🌴🏖️

SueWard I have been to a few of the islands but never Fuerteventura but I am due to visit it on the 10th December, my birthday, while on a cruise. Many times I have looked over to it from Lanzarote.

eyeballkerry Hope you enjoy your cruise and perhaps do an excursion from the ship during your stay in port to see a little of the island.

I have lived in my present home 27 years, my partner & his ex bought it..

She moved out after they split,I started going out for drinks with him as a friend & 18 month later we started going out as a couple, I moved in with him exactly one year after we started dating, we had known each other 6 years before that & were friends as we worked together..

Jackscot It is weird how some people decorate their homes. But I do feel a lot of people decorate their homes to please others.
