What Have You Lost Interest in as You Have Got Older ?

Other

I found this article about people and what they have lost interest in as they get older

It says for those over 30 , so according to the article i am a lost cause LOL

I do agree with some of the statements , but things for example like travelling, i still love to do this regardless of my age, i could drive long distances no problem

Other things i do relate with

How close to reality is the article to you ?

The only one that DOESN'T apply to me is number 14, I can binge boxsets until the cows come home. I think it stands to reason that many of these things will come with age. I do notice, however, the obvious one was not mentioned and that is something I have long given up and have no further interest in!😂😂😂

Sunbathing, l would be out all day on a sunbed getting a tan, l cannot even sit in the sun for five minutes now.

Pinkspirit I think we all have much more awareness of sun damage to the skin now P, and as you get older you are trying to avoid the wrinkles

telmel I'm quite lucky in the wrinkles area as l went on sunbeds from the age of 18-45 🥴

The early sunbeds were very dangerous, i must admit i used them occasionally myself as i used to work unsociable hours and missed a lot of daylight and sunshine

I think with all the knowledge we have now though about skin cancers and cell damage nobody should be using them , but while the authorities still deem them safe people will carry on using them

telmel l was very naive when l was younger and a tad vain, l wanted to be sun kissed and went on sunbeds daily, not knowing or thinking about the danger, in my thirties l had a boyfriend who owned a tanning salon and l would regularly go on them with a lotion that use to tingle... luckily l don't have skin cancer nor wrinkles yet....

l only wished l had the common sense / knowledge of the damage in my younger days.

Very much the same, although we have long given up on tv and only watch dvd's i.e. things we know we want to watch - why waste time watching all the modern cr*p that you know you won't enjoy?

I have lost interest in politics as they will promise you the earth until they get elected but none of them would know the truth if it bit them on the b*m!

Eating out - only when we know that it will be quiet, no children around, we just want a bit of peace really.

I've been over 30 since I was a teenager according to this! The only one not accurate is the tv shows.

I've also lost interest in wearing make up and doing my hair. I'd rather sleep for an extra 20 minutes.

MrsCraig everything you've said is me too. We must be related lol. I married at 17, had first child at 20 and absolutely loved being a mum, wife and housekeeper. I could never understand getting drunk, clubbing, loud music etc and I have never regretted it. Whatever I may have missed has been more than compensated for by my lovely family.

Lynibis we must be! Wouldn't mind being related to you at all. Like you I love being a mum, wife and housekeeper. I have a drink once a year, a glass of wine with my mum on Christmas day. I have never felt that I missed out on anything.

MrsCraig Can I join this little gang. I had children when I was young but really enjoyed being a mother and housewife. I gave up the drink years ago. Didn’t seem to mix when looking after youngsters. The make up went as well, no time for that. Family comes first.

Loads of things to be honest T, I have found the older I've gotten the more I'm disinterested in things, I was always the party animal, now I can't do with parties ect...guess I've become boring

I have a list as long as your arm for things I can't do. But simply loosing interest in are things like idiots who just want an argument, busy places, nightclubs, giving a hoot at what others think about me and strangely enough chocolate (unless it's of very high quality).

Crowds. I hate crowds now. When young hustle and bustle is exciting but now to me it’s Hell on earth. I want to look and see what I want to look at without other people in my way.

JLouM I empathise with you with that one J

I think covid made this worse , and the need to avoid pickpockets which seems to be on the increase , besides the intolerance older people tend to experience more

My interests are all over the place, I have phases where I'm interested in something for a while and then lose interest and move onto something else for a while. I never lose interest in food and music it seems but for movies, gaming and reading it comes and goes. I'm less interested in stuff nowadays that needs a lot of preparation. As you get older I find there isn't quite as much energy available for tasks and they take longer. I was never into social media. I still like alcohol occasionally but it can be months apart having it. I'm only into beer and cider no spirits and detest wine. I do find I'm getting more nostalgic as I age.

People’s drama as I have got older I value my peace to much so I now just cut toxic people out my life and don’t feel bad. The older I get the more I want to just enjoy time with people I love and make memories as life can change in a second.

I’ve lost interest in quite a lot but gained interest in other things. Things that used to be important no longer are. My friend circle has got smaller too. But I’m happy with my lot 😊

I think most of these things have always applied to me. But yes I'm more of a recluse and find people confusing most of the time. The only one I maybe need to get better at is caring less about what people think of me.
