Man Appears in Court Twice after Refusing to Pay English-Only Parking Fine

In the News

Basically the story is about Welsh man living in the village of Llangrannog who got a parking fine off an English company, One Parking Solution, but refused to pay it as the fine is not in welsh

It went to court twice and was thrown out, both times, but the parking company are still pursuing him

I agree with him, although not Welsh myself, besides i have got a strong dislike for these companies and their morals

Do you think he is right to demand the fine in Welsh ?

Of course he's right.

I used to work in finance in Cardiff and had to deal with people who flatly refused to speak English. There are still some in Wales that can't speak English. Only a few, but a few

Best article I've read today. Good for him, if the company wants to operate in another country then they should fine that person in their native language.

Midnightflower It would be good he gets away with the fine M, but these parking companies are relentless , i can see them bringing a private prosecution against him

telmel maybe he could persuade some of his neighbours to accidentally get fines aswell, then they could all refuse to pay and send it to court....the parking company wouldn't be able to cope 😂

Something similar happened in South Ireland I believe when the English changed all the Gaelic roadsigns to English. The locals crept out at night and pulled em all down. They knew their way around the 'visitors' didn't lol. Image
