Man Builds the Smallest House to Enter the Guiness Book of Records
In the News
I must say when i saw this article i was really impressed with what he has managed to cram into this tiny 19.46 square foot house
It has more than some of the tiny flats being sold or rented in London and at a fraction of the price people are asking there
He actually only spent £3846.40 constructing it , and it has a fitted kitchen, fold down bed for anyone under 5ft 10'' , a shower , but only for use outside, a mobile toilet , solar panels and a rechargeable battery
And the icing on the cake is he plans to take it with him on holidays after doing an upgrade for the family
So a great feat of miniature engineering here which got him in the running for the record books
So the big question is, ''any room for a small one ? ''
Sorry but having a shower outside defeats the point of having a small 'house' to me... I'm quite easy going when it comes to living but I'd want my own facilities, like an actual toilet and shower
It's quite attractive though and 'anyone sleeping in the bed needs to be shorter than 5’10”' No problem there for me
I'm sure these would be great though even as temporary accommodation for some homeless people, as long as they didn't get stuck there because they then now had 'housing'
I'm saying that as someone who sadly couldn't personally live there full time, but some people would probably be delighted to.
Mobile toilet? Does that have to be used outside with the shower. It seems expensive when you consider the hassle of having to fold everything up and down. Be better camping lol
PayItForward Even at this size it would be great on a camp site where there are already showers and toilets
It's hard to think of it as a house when it has wheels and can be moved about. It's more of a wooden caravan rather than house. I'm 6'2" so nowhere for me to sleep in it. What about that dwarf theme park in China where they have little houses and some live on site?
BonzoBanana I have never heard of this place before B, i have posted a link to it , it looks amazing
I wonder if this type of theme park would be allowed in the UK or Europe with all the PC issues connected to it ?
telmel I don't consider myself PC at all but still the idea of a dwarf theme park where full height people just wander around viewing dwarfs as some sort of freak novelty expecting them to constantly dance and sing just seems hideous and horrible on so many levels but of course China is a long way from a politically correct country. In so many countries now there is growing homelessness with some people sheltering at night in a cardboard box, would those be considered small homes?
Sorry but that's not a house without a shower or toilet inside for me you might as well say you glamping lol
Leannexxx where bathrooms used to be before we thankfully brought them inside. A friend had an outside loo. Horrible in the winter
Jerseydrew lol my friends house their bathroom is nextdoor to the kitchen and I mean it's just a door between them I couldn't get my head round that but my grandad friend had his toilet outside there wasn't one in his house
Leannexxx her shower was in the kitchen. Fair play to her she lived like that fir years. I was like um hell no
I'm 6ft 5 was would be a bit small for me lol looks cool though, shower outside wouldn't bother me at all
I was lucky enough to have a two week holiday in the Maldives years ago M, it was a very special offer and price, but the accommodation was very basic, just a hut with no air con and plenty of unwanted guests crawling around the mattress
The shower was outside in a concrete enclosure, and the water was ice cold , there was no hot
But i loved that holiday, one of the best experiences i have ever had , the closest to one out in the wild
MelissaLee1 Invites to telephone box occupants only M , and they need to bring their own portaloos with them
I remember seeing a documentary on turning shipping containers being converted into homes. Sometimes attaching multiple together. The Jananese seem to have the market on space saving furniture. Loads of it online. Its never cheap but some of it is mind blowing
