Man Sets Sail across Atlantic in One-Metre Long Boat in Hope of Breaking Record

In the News

This is the smallest boat i think i have ever seen , and if he manages to cross the Atlantic in it, this will be a world record

He has had to delay the journey for a while due to a leak he found on his first try

He has the food stored in the inside body of the boat , a filter for fresh drinking water and just one change of clothes

The food is a special blend to reduce his need to go to the toilet , but he will need to squat over the side of the boat occasionally when the weather is calm if nature calls

Not exactly being on a pleasure cruise, more like being Tom Cruise in mission impossible

I think these people who attempt such extreme sports should take insurance to cover their rescue costs.

Ship to shore. I'm going to mine now

My bed is like a little boat;

Nurse helps me in when I embark;

She girds me in my sailor's coat

And starts me in the dark.

At night, I go on board and say

Good night to all my friends on shore;

I shut my eyes and sail away

And see and hear no more.

And sometimes things to bed I take,

As prudent sailors have to do;

Perhaps a slice of wedding-cake,

Perhaps a toy or two.

All night across the dark we steer;

But when the day returns at last,

Safe in my room, beside the pier,

I find my vessel fast.

telmel - Good publicity and free cash if he succeeds. All I am thinking about is he is going to do number 2 into the sea and help to ruin the environment.

I would do it if I could put the one meter would on a very large cruse ship and make the journey with boat service, it would give a new meaning for poop deck.

I love people like this, obviously it’s going to be a very uncomfortable & lonely journey for him but it shows that determination and human spirit can overcome a lot
