Metal Detectorist , Inspired by Indiana Jones, Found Roman Coins from 206 BC
Other
I thought this was a great story , George Ridgway found a collection of 748 gold and silver coins estimated to date from as early as 206 BC
Inspired by Indiana Jones, he found roman coins using a metal detector that sold at auction for £132,865
What made me chuckle was the picture of him at 5 years of age dressed as Indiana Jones , who he says inspired his zest for adventure
He got his first metal detector for his birthday aged 12
He will split the proceeds between himself and the landowner where he found them
Oh, and he said he would buy his dad a pint
So he was no raider of the lost ark, but i doubt this will be his last crusade
My best friend is a metal detectorist but hasn't found anything of significance yet but she keeps plodding on, I'm sure she'll be famous for a 'find' one day and I'll be asking for her autograph
Wow love stuff like this. Stories like this are brilliant. Metal detecting isn't my thing but find it fascinating
