Naked Man Armed with Bow and Arrow While Singing and Trashing a Care Home

In the News

I think this is one of the strangest news stories i have read for a while

A 63 year old opera singer was a voluntary guest at a care home , when told he could not go shopping he had an episode

He emerged from his room singing opera , naked , and holding a bow and arrow , and he proceeded to cause damage to the home , the staff called the police

They had to taser him because he had the bow drawn, but it broke anyway

There are so many things wrong here, first why would a person so young be in a care home ?

I always assumed they were for the elderly , if someone has mental issues surely this isn't the right place ?

Secondly why was he allowed a dangerous weapon in the home, this is totally ridiculous and so dangerous especially as they knew he had issues

I don’t know about the story but when I was in hospital with mental health issues it was discussed putting me into a care home when they thought I might not recover. Luckily I did but that might explain a young person being in one.

Care homes can take people from any age. People have been offered places in their 20s because they have no where else to go and they may need care. My concern is how did he get the cross bow in and no one noticed

The care home must have been registered as a dementia unit. Once registered they can take any age.
