Nationwide £100 to some Customers.
In the News
It was a nice surprise to see they intend paying some customers an extra reward. You see lots of providers offer a bonus to switch, so it good to see loyalty getting rewarded.
Don't have a Nationwide account and if I did, I'd probably not qualify as I'd just use a free account than pay fees.
Who qualifies: www.moneysavingexpert.com/news/2023/05/nationwide-fairer-share-100-to-customers/
That said, it's a nice bonus.
PhilipMarc Thanks for the link, I will take a look. Not just fee paying accounts but it does have a few terms and conditions.
Howmuch Yes, either pay or transfer. Don't see much of an advantage or incentive to.
Am very happy with Chase, though they should have launched in the U.K. 20 or 30 years ago because it's already better than others, imo.
I got my email today saying I would get it in June and it was a lovely surprise, bit like winning a comp. I have been a customer of theirs for around 40 years and finally paid off my mortgage with them last month, hence my retirement in July.
We got an email today too. Was a lovely surprise and an extra £100 will come in very handy just now.
My husband and I both received emails yesterday to advise we wil be receiving £100 from the Nationwide. Happy Days
I've had an accounts with Nationwide for over 40 hyears but didn't quite meet the criteria, my partner got his e mail though so pleased for him, nice surprise.
I think this is great, some profit should be passed onto the customers especially in the banking sector
I had an email yesterday and to be perfectly honest even thou I will benefit from this, I would prefer the Nationwide to make returns to customers in the form of better interest rates and lower charges throughout the year. 40% rise in annual profits this year considering the cost of living crisis suggests to me that they haven't played fair with their customers this year
It was a lovely surprise that my partner and I both got the email.
My partner hasn't been with them as long, luckily when we set up our joint savings, he set it up, otherwise he would have missed out of on the payment from that part of the criteria.
Very appreciative of this.
JLouM Yes but he did fit all the criteria too, so accounts were open before 31 March 2023,
FlexAccount: In two of the three months of January, February and March 2023, you must have received at least £500 into the account (excluding transfers in from other Nationwide accounts). Plus, you must have made at least two payments out of the account each month, in two of those three months. These requirements do not apply if you completed a switch into the account using the official switch service between 1 January and 31 March 2023.
Savings: You must have held at least £100 in one or more Nationwide personal savings account(s) or cash ISA(s) at the end of any day in March 2023.
I just reread the email and realised you can opt out... erm...
If you’d prefer not to get the payment
If for any reason you don’t want to receive the money, you can opt out.
You just need to let them know by 7th June.
BonzoBanana It is unfair that some people miss out, it should have just been all customers with over £100 in a credit account or on a mortgage.
