Netflix Price Increase

In the News

So…Netflix has announced its second price increase inside 18 months.

I for one will definitely be downgrading from the premium plan or potentially cancelling all together. Any one else?

We downgraded our Netflix last month. We didn't need the top of the range package anymore so just got the basic one. Saves us £4 a month, might not seem like much but that pays for something else that we need.

I am sure my daughters wages will not be going up 16.7 percent shame her Netflix will be, I would cancel if I was paying for it.

I have just had a 2nd sky price rise in a very short time so will be getting rid, they really do take the mick when everyone is already feeling the pinch. If everyone applied to cancel they would have to lower prices.

By that time Netflix has gone bust or bought out by HBO or Disney.

Netflix just keeps losing licensed content and their own content isn't very good so things like increasing price, losing content, etc is bad news for viewers.

Disney+ Bundle or HBO MAX is a far better deal than Netflix. It's sad that NF is no longer the streaming service what it once was.

Btw, NF was mentioned about five times on Scream 5 and oh boy, that will not age well. Not to mention the movie sucks anyway.

Anyway, if you want a cheaper price for premium then use the Turkey method.

Essentially, you'll need a VPN (Windscribe has a free Turkey location) connected to Turkey, pay, and then you can watch U.K. NF content.

Thats typical, I'd been thinking about using Netflix again but I find it so awkward to find things to watch.

I'm concerned now that my mate is going to keep paying for it to borrow 😕

We only just signed up to the basic package last week, having never had it before, so it's a bit of a blow already! There wasn't anything on the sign up page advising of an increase.

tumblespots 😧

That’s bad! It’s obviously not a last minute decision by them, I’m sure they knew a week ago when you signed up. I personally don’t think they should be allowed to increase your price so soon, it’s misleading.

Leesha86 Thankyou. Absolutely everything is going up, it’s getting quite scary. But I do love my Netflix

I've never subscribed to Netflix or even done a free trial. Generally these services come in at a low price build up their user base and then try to push prices up and start making huge profits later but does seem like Netflix are timing the badly when they are losing a lot of content. Other newer services will hope to poach netflix users but will of course increase their prices later.

I just use Kodi for free streaming services and have advert blockers on youtube etc. Also itv, ch4, ch5 streaming services and other free streaming services. I have more content to watch than I need and don't pay anything.

Makes sense they will keep reducing the benefits and increasing prices until there is resistance from consumers and their userbase starts reducing. It's a bit like football in the fact the more loyal you are to your team the more you can be exploited. How much you enjoy Netflix will reflect with regards how much you are willing to pay and they will keep pushing it higher.

The more people that stop Netflix you would think would cause an increase as the costs are shared with less people but in business terms its a warning sign that they are becoming uncompetitive and will look to reduce prices.

BonzoBanana Hopefully that will come in time and prices will reduce. Too be honest I feel Netflix has went down hill and not really offering much new. The older stuff can watched with Prime video too.

We only have the basic one but I do think that it's going up from £5.99 to £6.99.Sadly now somethings have to give as we have to tighten our belts yet again 😪
