No surprise. Amazon will probably, too. Disney+ will be increasing the price later, iirc.

Folks could blame this on Brexit, but it's just not the case.

PhilipMarc I’m not surprised either, it was bound to happen with everything going on

Politics and economics are inherently connected. If reading Brexit triggered you, that's your problem.

The increase on Chinese items is what kind of annoyed me the most since I liked buying from Aliexpress a lot due to the low prices. Well, not anymore now.

£3 or £5 tax fee here, there.. that adds up. And it could have been used on items to order. Of course, there are times the tax is just pennies, not too often if it's somewhat a high value item. Tk3

I think they would find it difficult to get 160 million signups in the UK with a population or somewhere around 60-65 million. Also when you go to the BBC site it says 16 million but that is world wide. It also says the 16 million is due to the pandemic but then states those 16 million were in the first 3 months of 2020 which surely would be before the pandemic. So a lot of misleading info there.

At least the standard netflix charge remains at £5.99. Never been a netflix subscriber myself, I've never even done a trial. Just doesn't appeal to me, I've had Sky in the past and there is never enough content that interests me to justify the expense.

Standard? Guessing that's SD quality. Not sure who'd still bother with that quality unless they'd see "no difference."

There's also the "trick" to get it cheaper through the Turkish NF.

I've used NF of U.K., U.S., Japan and Canada. An excellent combination, but for this people would need a reliable VPN, of course.

I was considering taking a break from Netflix, for a few months, before this announcement. I've now seen all the things I really wanted to watch and I'm not finding a lot of content I'm excited about. I'm mainly watching Amazon Prime Video and the odd thing on Apple TV.

Apple TV, you say? There's a new show with Jason Sudeikis as a soccer manager.

It's apparently really good. I'll be giving it a watch when possible.

There are far too many streaming services nowadays, but that's a good thing. Choice. I'd rather go with a streaming service of my choice than watch lousy Live TV.

Thanks, I'll check it out. As I type this I'm watching episode 3 of their documentary series Home.

That’s me cancelled. I don’t use it enough to justify the price anymore, I’ll stick to prime video & sky.

It is getting steep, but I do love Netflix. And like anything at the moment, everything is rising in cost

I have Netflix and find that we are using it less and less, I’m reluctant to cancel as they might release something good and its there if you need it. Annoying that the price is increasing again but I guess that’s the same with most companies.

I'm not shocked it has went up and for £10 per month I don't find it too bad. Its cheaper than a tv licence and at least there is something to watch on Netflix

Interestingly I was just reading this (I don't have netflix) and thought you might like to read it. It''s about the price rises from Martin Lewis's point of view and what you can do to potentially reduce your bill, there is even a free bit!

Never felt the need for Netflix , plenty of stuff on the freeview channels when there's no sport on (which I do pay for ) .

It was bound to happen. All these companies like to raise their prices when they have the opportunity to

Everything rises at some point, other brands will follow too as they all compete around the same pricing

I would have thought due to the global economic climate plus their increased revenue due to new sign ups they could have delayed this

Not best Impressed as they have cancelled a lot of shows I liked, tho they have been talking about a price rise for quite a while now
