Netflix's upcoming "Death Note" movie
News
I watched the Death Note series some years ago and while I love it (detest the ending, though) watching is just kinda awkward.
Maybe it's the fact that Light looks like an emo troublemaker which he originally wasn't.
The YouTubers Smosh made a skit of Death Note back in 2012 and it's honestly far better and more to do with the show than Netflix's version. Ryuk never showed up but Ian (Light) and Padilla (Lawliet) did an excellent job.
The series is brilliant I'm worried that the new movie could be like the Gawd awful version of Spawn that blighted screens. Somethings don't translate well from comic to movie. I'll wait and see I'm still waiting for Ghost In The Shell to deliver a whole lot! Lol the pressure is on.
That's a good thing.. I guess. You should check out the series, it's really amazing and mind-boggling.
It's not scary Bargain 28. It's a cartoon (A living graphic novel) about ancient beings falling to Earth to kill a bit of boredom. Nothing in the series is too graphic in my opinion.
The film hasn't been released yet but I'll watch it and decide if I like it or not. Often things that are pre-judged under deliver but sometimes they over deliver.
I try to observe first and then decide...it stops the weird 'is Ben Affleck going to be a good Batman debates?' Only way you know is by observing and subjective interpretation or by applying a specific formula and analysis (which we know is about as an exact science as the existence of Nessie!).
Making decisions like who gets to live and die, that's surely a matter of extreme importance.
I saw the Death Note Netflix film in 2017 as part of the Frightfest Film Festival. I was largely disappointed, but it did have some good moments. I prefer the anime series and the Japanese films.
