New Baby Items That Are a Waste of Money?
Ask a Question
When you had a baby, what item turned out to be the biggest waste of money?
For us it was a baby bath, it was easier to just bathe in the normal one.
We had a bumbo which was a waste of money. My first pram was a waste as I couldn't put it up and down and it was heavy
Jerseydrew ..
My pram cost £50 from Babies R Us in Sheffield when it first opened just over 26 years ago,it was half price & lasted me til our daughter had her fold up buggy..
Pram was a nice weight & easy to push..
Silver Cross Pioneer pram with the front wheels constantly buckled every time it hit a kerb or a raised slab, and that thing was as heavy as a tank, worst thing we spent money on.
Probably a moses basket, as the baby was only in it a couple of weeks. Would also say 'outfits' in the tiny sizes. Once I had my second he lived in sleepsuits as they're just easier and probably more comfortable for the baby as well x
Have to say we got lucky and didn't buy anything that we felt was a waste of money. Never bothered with a baby bath, we got a baby box so used that and our wee one loved it. We were quite minimal and only bought what we felt we would need.
At the time money was tight so had to be careful what I purchased with my first baby. I accepted a lot of second hand goods and my mum knitted a lot of outfits. I also used terry towelling nappies.
A bottle warmer was the biggest waste of money for me as my son would only drink room temperature milk as if I warmed it up he would just vomit it straight back up
Baby clothes, they grow so quickly they don't fit after a couple of weeks lol and I agree with the baby bath too
I bought my 3 daughters their 1st prams for my grandkids. 1st one cost me £600 but my granddaughter was in it from she was born till she could walk full time and then she passed it on to a friend who also had it till her baby was walking , 2nd one cost me £650 in sale and daughter sold it after yr and must have bought 2/3 others after. Don’t know why she didn’t stick with 1st one. 3rd one I paid £600 to my daughter as her in-laws wanted to buy the pram (their 1st grandchild). Her pram also lasted from birth till my granddaughter was walking full time. All 3 daughters chose Mamas and Papas prams. When oldest daughter had her 2nd child she bought silvercross pram which was nitemare and actually broke just after 1st yr. Don’t think I bought anything for my own kids that was a waste of money cos we didn’t have lot and were happy with 2nd hand items and hand downs from other family members. Think my daughters said their biggest waste was Moses baskets cos they didn’t get much time out of them
Bought a Moses basket. A baby bath and a swinging crib when my first newborn was born but none of these were a waste in my eyes.
Kids don't come cheap but can still try
Spending over the top and ordering loads of clothes imo, they outgrow them ever so quickly and then you're left with a bunch clothes that wasn't required
