What sort of bed are you looking for? There are loads reduced at the moment. I think getting the right mattress is the most important part. I've been looking at Eve and Emma hybrids but I'm not sure what to get at this point.

A year or so back I bought an Inofia Hybrid memory foam mattress ,think it was this one (or similar ) www.amazon.co.uk/Inofia-Mattress-Collection-Sleeping-Responsive/dp/B07W4ZNRXT/ref=sr_1_7?crid=2FZXHWICIMEDC&keywords=inofia%2Bking%2Bsize%2Bmattress&qid=1672778462&sprefix=Inofia%2Caps%2C161&sr=8-7&th=1
They sell on Amazon and have their own website . Probably the most amazing thing I have ever bought and 15 months on I still look forward to going to bed .
Decided when I did my research that spring mattresses weren't comfy enough , memory foam ones were to squishy ( and can also be very warm in summer ) . So I decided a hybrid memory foam could be the thing for me . Looked at Eve and Emma etc -Wow !! £1000 + for a King size Hybrid , perhaps not . Checked out the Inofia ones (always some sort of offer on ) , paid £180 and have been sleeping on air ever since . Think it came with a 120 day trial , but there is no way they were having it back !
.
Not a lot of money compared to an Eve . Obviously mattresses are a matter of personal preference but I'm still overjoyed with it 15 months on (and I'm not easily pleased !) .
Haven't a clue about the rest of the bed (mine went on my old divan base ) , but by saving on the mattress (the important bit ) you can buy what you like . Lets face it you sleep on the mattress , it's covered in bedding so all you see is the headboard at the end of the day ?

Golfforall That's a good price, I find it so difficult to buy mattresses as there are so many available it's overwhelming. It's always good to hear a personal review of a product. Thank you.

Midnightflower LynneBorthwick I think most of these "mattress in box " type deals come with a no questions asked 3 -6 month trial (100 nights with Inofia ). Obviously we are all different with our sleeping preferences and backs etc so one type does not necessarily suit all .
Has been great for me and still in A1 condition after 15 months (no sagging etc and warm in winter , cool in summer ) . Website is www.inofia.co.uk/ . They always seem to have varying offers both on their website and on Amazon . I remember when I bought mine they were going for about £250 for the King then a £70 voucher popped up one day reducing it to about £180 so I ordered ,it arrived 3 or 4 days later and I've never looked back since
Edit : Looked on my Amazon orders to double check how much I paid . Yes it was £180 but it was in November 2020 (not 2021 ) ! So I have had it 26 months not 15 . Where did that extra year go
? Obviously time flies when you sleep well

I went to dreams and they had a testing bed and it determined what the best type of mattress should be for you. From the results obviously try them in store to gauge what you need and then look around else where

Spring mattress are the best as I've tried the new mattresses and did not like them so be warned

Pfs As I said it's a personal choice as to which mattress your body finds the most comfortable . Depends on weight ,body mass , preferred sleeping position etc . Impossible to say which is "best" ? Find one that is best for you . Slept on spring mattresses for decades (not the same one !) but the hybrid one was a totally different world .
TBF I did previously try a 3" memory foam topper (on top of my mattress ) and found it hot and sticky .
Obviously no mattress will be "best" for all no matter how much you pay . Try them and buy the one that feels comfy for you . After all you will hopefully be spending thousands of hours sleeping on it ?
