New: Bonus Points Available for Great Comments!

We launched the point system to reward our amazing members for contributing to the community - whether that’s by liking posts, commenting, reporting expired deals or anything else!
We’re excited to say today that we’ve added in a new incentive for writing awesome comments - if your comment gets three or more likes you’ll get awarded 20 bonus points 
What’s an awesome comment?
- A helpful comment answering a member's question
- Something insightful. Say someone posts a deal for a lawnmower you already own - comment with whether it’s good (or bad!)
- Something funny that makes people laugh!
- Or just something that’s popular with the members of Latest Deals!
In an effort to make the points system clear we’ve created a new one-stop-resource for all things points. You can access it here: https://www.latestdeals.co.uk/points
The new points page shows
- What you can earn points for
- If there are any limits to how many points you can earn in a day
- The rewards you get for earning points
- Your point history - explaining where points came from (or, occasionally, went to!)

Really good idea. I've often already got items people post about, so it is great to share the good & bad points - reviews are what help people decide whether to buy or not.
Nice touch I must say and helps encourage the feeling of community we are fostering on the site. Have certainly enjoyed since moving across from HotDealsUK which frankly saw those of us who enjoyed competitions as very much their secondary audience
May I ask how you found out about Latest Deals? We would love to attract more fab comp’ing members such as yourself.

Well as I mentioned I used to rely on the community of compers on HotdealsUk but the site underwent some revamp that was primarily to assist those posting deals and freebies but was next to useless for us compers. From what I gather it wasn't necessarily the entering of the comps but more for those on the site who were kind enough to find and post them who found the new system arduous and unhelpful The response from the owners initially was one of we'll look to roll out updates which quickly turned to saying in no uncertain terms they weren't interested in us. Anyway as you can imagine there was numerous posting about this treatment all of which got taken down and moderated despite being fair and reasonable views aimed at providing constructive feedback and it was one of this community that mentioned you. Subsequently I have seen a number of familiar faces who have come across. Here we most definitely do feel valued.

It is a amazing way to spend the day earning points and shopping at the same time with out moving lol
great idea , will lead to a lot less ty comments and something helpful and hopefully constructive getting written ,as well as assist with communication within the deal hunters

This is a fab idea, love getting points but didn’t realise it was each time you commented 
Great idea as i always say thanks for sharing, i love saying good morning have a lovely day etc nice getting to know people a little more just wishing someone a good day or helping them out a bit makes ye feel good and them

Thanks for the explanation on the points scheme. With some sites where comments are invited, you don't earn anything, apart from sneery comments! I've always found Latest Deals to be a friendly, open and helpful bunch! I will certainly try to contribute when I can, it helps to be able to put a question out there, without feeling that your being silly for asking it!
