New Year - What Will It Bring to.the County/world?

Other

Having a sit, thinking of 2023 and what has happened this year in the country/world both good and bad. And wondering what predictions/hopes I can make of what 2024 will bring, any ideas?

Hopefully a more resilient/resistant people and the confidence and willing to oppose immoral self serving governments. Tolerance, understanding, patience and an increase in empathy for our fellow citizens and a decrease in the obsession with materialism and extrinsic beauty. Time for others.

More of the same I would say. Sadly all the little random acts of love and kindness are far outweighed by the atrocities, greed and devastation that goes on. There seems to be no end in sight for the war in Ukraine, the repercussions from Israeli/Gaza war will carry on or worsen. Fuel costs will never come down meaning just living, heating and travelling will become more of a daily struggle for many. Illegal immigration (much of it it disguised as persecution or refugee status) will continue to drag down and burden our economy until we too descend into 3rd world chaos and will no longer be able to help anyone. Already our housing, education, NHS and general living standards are beyond repair. We house, feed, heal, educate and nurture many who leave their homes for no good reason but cannot do the same for our own homeless. This is what happens in an uncaring over populated world, we run out of resources and it can only get worse. Glad I am at the end of my life rather than beginning.

Lynibis I do think they leave their homes for good reason, they are in terrible countries with worse poverty and want better lives, they are your typical economic migrants. They have been mis-sold a dream that the UK is rich and they can do well here when in fact the UK has never been burdened with more debt and with such low resources. It's something we need to get a grip on completely because we are already heading towards twice the population the UK can handle and its going to get much worse in the world with global warming. We are going to lose huge amount of crop capacity and its no way that world can feed everyone. The UK will shrink slightly with rising sea levels.

I've never known the country to have more useless politicians sadly and a population so determined to damage their own economy with the huge level of high value imports. There is an incredible economic stupidity about the UK population, happy to export most of their money but then bitterly complain the economy is going down the pan and their living standards are much reduced.

2024 Is going to get worse. I mean how can It get better. War Is always going to happen. We are all suffering with money no matter what you do bring home In regards of pay. Utilities are going up. Car Insurance Is going up or gone up. Food has gone up. The list Is endless. Nothing has gone right In my personal experience since Covid19.
