What is the Experience with the Nextdoor App in Your Area?
Ask a Question
Does anybody else here use the Nextdoor app in their local area? Is it the same where you are e.g. just a place for those with nothing better to do than moan about everything?
I am in local Facebook groups and sign up to the councils newsletters, I am also on the OLIO app.
I haven't yet joined the Nextdoor app, but had been considering it, but that doesn't sound like something I'd like to be a part of, if that is the case.
I'd be interested to see other people's responses
DeBunny me too! Where I live it’s predominantly moaning about dog poo, noisy neighbours, damp housing, fireworks, litter, bad parking etc etc etc. I find it all quite depressing for an app that is supposed to support and champion being good neighbours. I’m so close to leaving it for good.
I signed up for this a year or so ago and get a daily email advising what the newest posts are. It's pretty boring and, yes, there is a lot of complaining and people asking questions that they should have just typed into google?!
Knowing my neighbours probably. I vaguely remember a leaflet recently for a neighbour app. This I expect. I didn't sign up too it. I know it'll be dominated by a particular person & my patience for him is thin at best of times
I have joined but don't have the app. Honestly I don't read most things that are posted, however it is a good place to find out about local things, for example when I was having trouble finding a driving instructor I asked on there my daughter is taking her test next month
I think a lot of social media can become a bit of a moanfest at times. It’s not a bad thing overall if it lets people get it off their chest but I just don’t choose to be in those sorts of groups
I recently joined our one a while back and was enjoying finding out what was going on in the local area but recently we have had more moaners on it, ruining it.
yeh i have got on ok with it. i think it is still fairly new and i only really use it as another place to sell stuff. a few bits have gone on there and have found a few bits on there to.
I have never heard of it but doesn't sound like something I would have as I can't stand Facebook or Instagram.
