Officially no its never OK to skip school. Unofficially as a one off it's no big deal. Just be honest as kids will grass you up
Your question is confusing as it asks about Fridays but then goes on to say about the Fridays before a Bank holiday. Many schools in my area tend to take inset days just prior to school holidays/ bank holidays so many will get that Friday off anyway.
