Any pup is like a child if you can't teach it then they shouldn't be a pet owner in the first place

This is why there are animals in rescues to begin with. people think they will get a pet without putting the effort in. It’s shameful on her part

It takes effort to own a pet. You need to put the time in and train them properly. It isn't easy having a pet, especially if you get them when they are really young. Puppies act bad because they don't know any better and need to be trained not to behave that way.

She said the last straw was when the dog ate the passports. I meant what idiot leaves them where a dig can eat them.

In this instance I think she was wrong, clearly a celebrity whim having a pet, got bored with it and handed it back . If she had been serious about the animal , she could quite easily have afforded the very best people to help her train the dog , rather than return it. Also sets a very bad example to others that may think it's ok to do the same .

The passports should have been put away ,the dog can’t open draws , obviously the dog never got enough attention . NO it should not of been taken back !plenty of dog training classes . Never been keen on this person .

Train the puppy. It's like a naughty child. If you had one of them do you return the child? Very rarely is there a bad dog, you normally have a bad owner!

It's not as cut and dried as the press make out. Not every pet adoption will work, just as in extreme circumstances children are returned before the final adoption takes place.

Well they were right.

She should have thought about that before she adopted

I know I'd be rubbish with a dog, too lazy at times and my house is too small and I'm too disorganised. I know I'm much better with cats who are happy to do their own thing a lot of the time. I love other people's dogs but not sure I'm ideal for a dog. I'm a single person and I guess if I had a partner and we shared responsibility it would be different but as a single person its a cat for me. There is no way I could adopt a puppy and give it back, if I adopted a puppy that is it, I'd have to put up with whatever happened and try to solve the problems. I just can't imagine taking it back it would just be horrific to the puppy's mental health. That's why I try to work within my own limitations which a cat suits.

I have heard of people doing this with cats and dogs. I suppose it is better for the animal to go to a better home where they will be looked after in the right way. I’m surprised these celebrities have time for pets. They are not accessories.

I think it’s an option if you adopt a pet from a rescue centre. You don’t know how the animal was treated by its previous owner so it could have lots of issues like humans.

Some people automatically think a dog will behave and be house trained, they are lazy and don't want to put the time and effort needed, just like this Lilly Allen

I think it's disgusting behaviour, and she didn't deserve to have the dog in the first place. As lots of people are saying, if it was a child being naughty, would you give it away. Pets aren't perfect, just the same as everything else, but so worth any training. I hope she's never allowed to have a pet again.
