Any One Else Noticed That Their Phone Has Stopped Ringing with Unknown Numbers?

Other

If the silence of my phone is anything to go by Call Centres have finally got the message and are 'social distancing'. I'd really had enough of this or that survey, energy comparison etc.

Ann1984 Your response made me lol. I am ashamed to say I pretend to be the foreign maid, in a big house, and my employer is out but I have a few hours to chat, in broken English....

Ann1984 It did backfire on me once when my car insurance rang me and thought I had been in an accident and driven off..........I gave them the maid's response. I rang the company, on another line just to check, and it was a genuine/scam report of mistaken identity 200 miles away. Apology overload and muttering to myself for days. 😳

I never get any but my husband used to get a few. He just used to sing down the phone at them until the hung up. His mum was visiting when we got a call once, they sang a duet at them.

I started saving the numbers with their name and when they phoned again I'd answer with 'Good morning, company x how can I help you', really confused them and great fun.

Oh that's a good idea. I might try that. I normally just block them, but that could be fun!

I have heard about that scam on social media. It is disgusting that people prey on others during vulnerable situations.

I got a call from the Irish defence forces last night. Number was hidden but due to this c19 I actually answered it. Hadn't a clue what was going on until he told me he was doing contact tracing and someone I know has the virus.

Have to be so careful these days as there is a serious amount of scammers and dirt bags out there. I'd normally not ans blocked numbers otherwise

I'm surprised scammers are not able to work from home.

I'd not considered this, but haven't had any for a while now anyway, but good that others are getting less. Shame about the circumstances causing it though.

The day after the lockdown I got 2 calls - one from South Africa and one from Eastern Europe. They’ve not called back since

Still get them but I have BT phones that automatically stop them coming through. I do know that call centre staff can work from home.

I've noticed that and I also noticed that nobody is checking weather money is fake too busy worrying about other things, will be a lot of counterfeit money around!

I hadn’t even noticed until reading this post! Yes they have definitely settled down. Shame this can’t be a perk that stays once the awful coronavirus pandemic ends!

I’ve not had any spam calls this week. I always press to block the caller once I’ve answered one of these calls. Blimey this is the good thing that’s come out of Covid-19.
