Do People Work Less if WFH?

Ask a Question

Do you think people aren't working as hard if WFH?

I am so much more productive working from home as there are less distractions for me than in an office, but it isn't for everyone!

Some might. I know when I worked in an office I got more done if I was in at 8 and between 12-2 and 5-6. Less people around so less interruptions so I could actually do my job

Jerseydrew You don't have people coming up to you for a gossip when working from home which is easier lol. I like to knuckle down and focus.

I think it depends on the person. Some people work great at home, others will do whatever they can to do as little work as possible. People are the same in any work environment.

Im like yourself, less distractions at home. I do often wonder if part of it is mental as well though because I know its a bit of a luxury and not a right so I want to prove that I can work from home? But I suppose it depends on your line of work

I get a lot less done when in the office than I do WFH. Part of thats deliberate because our office days are when we have all our team meetings to make the most of us all being in. I can also just switch on my laptop and start work straight away each morning at home. When in the office it takes 10-15 mins to set everything up.

Always get distracted at home more, the fridge, the cat, other stuff happening. I can be more focused at work and also I'm one of those people left to my own devices slow down a bit. I need the crack of the whip occasionally.

I haven’t worked from home but the people i know who did said that they spent a lot of time doing things other than work. I know myself i probably wouldn’t be suited to it because i’m a massive procrastinator

Depends on the individuals concerned always.I always work better without someone hovering over my shoulder that's for sure.

Worked from home for two years during Covid and hated it , just wasn't motivated , kept stopping and starting distracted by other things , no physical, interaction or banter with colleagues , and the worse bit was if I needed to know something I couldn't just shout across to someone to ask them instead relied on email or phone calls , which slowed things down
