Are Your Pets in Your Will?
Ask a Question
Would you leave money to your pet in your will?
More people are choosing to do so, treating their pets as family. Is it a sensible way to ensure their care, or do you think it's over the top?
I think it’s natural to want your pet looked after once you pass. If you have close family you can just ask them to take them on insteas
We've already told my mum that we would look after her cat if anything happened to her. It isn't in my parents will though.
SamGoodship not necessarily. If you think the animal will outlive you then maybe but if you trust a family member to look after them then probably not needed.
Whomever inherits whatever if he/she is good hearted, knows that the pet(s) need to be treated as the original owner did.
That kind of reminds me of warning labels because of stupid people doing stupid stuff (like using gorilla glue for their hair).
If anything happened to us I know my mother in law would look after our dog and take good care of him
My dog is named in my will with named people to look after him and money to cover any costs should something happen to me.I didn't need to really as family would take great care of him but this gives me peace of mind.
