Phase " Bringing Home the Bacon" Do You Say It ?
Ask a Question
I was watching the golf with my husband and one of players was 8 under, so I said he's bringing home the bacon, meaning he is in the £ and I thought what equivalent phase would a vegetarian or someone who's religion forbids them from eating pork use.
So, I wondered if this a phrase which is no longer in popular use and I am just behind the times aka old.
Full disclosure I have had a glass or two of wine, so if I am talking nonsense ignore me
I got lucky on Olio the other day and brought home 20 packs of Gammon. So I did . No kidding!
beccatavender Seriously lucky.I opted for two at night and no one else turned up on the last call so I got them all.A freezer full of ham lol.
MelissaLee1 Its great when something like that happens. Plus it's really versatile, lots of recipes you can try. I had gammon and pineapple the other night, to use up the pineapple, very retro, but it was delicious
