The knives have been out since queue gate L , then the scandal with his brother , even though he had nothing to do with this

But i suspect there is more to it than just those incidents

Possibly he left before the newspapers got hold of more scandal to crucify him with

telmel I don't think so myself he's been judged because of what he's brother has done I think it's wrong

Leannexxx It is L , and they would have kept digging until they found more and that's probably why he left now

Leannexxx I think people are more outraged because of the inappropriate messages and images shared between him and a 17 year old (Suspected/Reported) so his brother's case didn't help, especially as Phillip reported saying he knew about it, really didn't help his case as it has branded his whole family as being inappropriate with children.

There have also been so many more 'scandals' like the uproar of them ending up in the reporters queue, rather than the public queue at the Queen's funeral.

Also the lying about his sexuality for years and getting married even though he said he always knew.

Those that use Twitter and have searched the Hashtag (#ThisMorning) especially during the show will notice that most of the tweets are now about these incidents and not much about what is actually happening on the show.

So whether ITV instigated it or Phillip, it might be in the shows interest to select a new host.

Being in the public eye must be very difficult in general, without loads of speculation, stories and hate from people. I don't think I could do it!

He's been under alot of scrutiny in the last year and If I had a brother convicted of such a hideous crime I wouldn't want to be in the spotlight either.

Leannexxx I totally agree, I love the media when their exposing real issues and crime but when it comes to celebrities I can't stand them. The way some articles have been written it makes it sound as if he was part of it. It's not fair on him, but if I found myself in that situation I'd rather be out of the spotlight until they move on to their next victim.

I only watch This Morning when my Mother in Law is visiting as I'm not a fan of the show. There has been controversy for a while now and with the stuff with his brother it might have been a case of he left before he was pushed.

It's the age old when someone is committed of such a crime the whole family gets labelled. Shame that it's got like this for phil

Schofield is no saint and he got what he deserved.

His brother who's even worse should be on a child predator map, but that somehow doesn't exist in the U.K. seems like they're protecting kid touchers.

I don’t like much of the show anyway, only very few bits of it. I grew up watching Phil as children presenter on BBC broom cupboard with Gordon gopher. Such a long time ago now. Anyway he shouldn’t have married if he always knew he was gay. But was different in those days I suppose, it wasn’t as accepted. The fact he said he knew about his brother activity didn’t help even if he hasn’t committed any crime himself. This is all anyone is going to talk about so understand him removing himself from public eye. I think he will still be on some shows though, just not as much.

Not surprised. It's been evident it was coming. If the rumours are true I there's more to come out.

I think he got a tip off that an new scandal involving him will appear in the tabloids soon and he quitted while ahead. Or maybe he and Holly couldn't stand each other and stopped being hypocrites on TV.

Brothers, inappropriate behaviour and court cases aside, I am glad he is going, I liked him in the beginning but he gets on my nerves now. He can be quite rude and miserable sometimes and it is time to let others have a slice of the cake. I don't really want to see the same face on the same show for decades measuring away my life. He has plenty of money to retire and enjoy life in his own way but if he wants to he can still work in the background I daresay.

Phil and Holly were best mates, their families went out together and they went on holiday together, there was a feud between them which resulted in them breaking all ties accept for work, they weren't even talking backstage, the chemistry had gone and it's been hard for them to work together, there has been constant speculation on social media and what with 'Q Gate' and Phil's brother's conviction, ITV said that instead of This Morning discussing recent stories, This Morning had turned itself into the story and enough was enough. There's talk of Holly presenting oh her own and then taking a short break until it's decided who will work with her, Alison is high up the list! 😉

I think it's sad and I feel very sorry for him. It's mental health awareness month and many people including celebrities have forgotten what happened with Caroline flack.

Phil and Holly seemed so close .. it's sad.

I was surprised how much attention this story has gotten, it was on the 1st page of the BBC news website!

I don't watch This Morning, but the odd occasion, I have watched, I don't particularly like him as a presenter, he comes across as being patronising.

As others have said this story goes deeper than they are letting on. It will all come out in the wash, as they say. Might take a few years though

Hey, I personally think since Phillip 'came out'things have been rather strained. The whole publicity behind the housewives favourite him announcing he was gay, how his wife knew and she and the girls were going to stand by him etc seems to have disappeared. Then theres all sorts of rumours going around about him and some young guy he's been with having now gained employment by This Morning is causing upset. The whole matter with his brother has been the icing on the cake I reckon. Celebrities think they can get away with all sorts of things but there's always somebody or something lurking in the background ready to destroy them. 🤔

Sammycb I started a new topic as Philip Schofield has now finished working for ITV and is now not hosting the awards programme and his agent has dropped him, more came out on ITV's evening News tonight, but even though all my news was new my posting was taken off........

JoTarpley probably because it's still about Philip Schofield and yeah I seen that he's not the first person to have a affair and he won't be the last and from what he was saying he was

of age too no I don't think it's right but how many women go out with very young men

Leannexxx I remember reading about this affair with a much younger man about a month ago, apparently he got a super injunction to stop the man breaking the story, and then came out on this morning.

I think from what I read, the issue is more that he had been a family friend of the person and had known him since he was 11. If that’s true that’s pretty dodgy to me.

jms19 that's if it's true sorry but anyone can know someone at any age as long as he's if age then there's no issue with that, I feel for his wife too but it's for the family to deal with no one else

I feel sorry for his wife and family in the whole mess he has made. He has lied to them for many years and she gave her life to looking after him and bringing up their children.

So what if Philip Schofield is gay and denied it in the past. I personally feel he didn't need to explain himself yesterday. Lots of married celebrities are gay and do not come out to be talked about. I personally think Philip Schofield should have kept quiet and he would still be into a showbusiness job now. Instead he has lost it all in less than a week.
