You Get Pooed on by a Bird - is It Good Luck or Bad Luck?
Ask a Question
I have probably only ‘suffered’ the experience twice in my lifetime, and on neither occasion have I considered it to be a blessing, nor did I receive good fortune
Do you consider it good luck or bad luck?
I suppose if you did believe that it brought you luck, there’s plenty of places you could hang out and wait for the inevitable
Tbh I think that traditionally it is supposed to be good luck but I wouldn't think it good luck to be pooped on by a bird, not unless it was a precursor to a really good competition win!
Lol not sure how many competition winners will have had that experience to share. Still don’t understand who’s it can be good luck
It's supposed to be good luck, didn't work when the seagull splat on me, and believe me they splat.
Oh no, and they’re big birds, so that’s a big splat! At least it was only the one bird - gulls are rarely alone
My OH is a magnet for bird poop.I kid you not..Im going back a few years ago now, whilst we were out for a walk with our sons who were just little at the time, He was pooped on, not once, not twice but THREE times in one day. He was not happy & didn't considered himself lucky. Just made it all the funnier for me
Lol oh no! I do feel for him - when I was a kid, there was a girl in my class who the birds used to go for. She once had one right in her eye!
If you are superstitious it’s supposed to be good luck! I hope some good luck is coming your way, did you put a lottery ticket on?
Apparently Turkish, Chinese and Russian people also believe bird poop is lucky. One of the reasons is because the odds of getting pooped on is so rare, that it's a sign of good fortune to come.
Lol my Mum always said it was bad luck, like some kind of omen based on the odds thankfully I’ve not had any bad luck or misfortune as a result, nor have I had good luck. All I know for sure is that it means a lot of mess that needs cleaning up lol
Fortunately, this has only happened to me once up till now. I would say it's more of an inconvenience and potentially very embarrassing if it's a large bird.
I was always lead to believe it was good luck although it never seems so to the 'beneficiary'!
I suppose we should be glad that elephants don't fly!
Lol, and i suppose in both instances it’s not good luck, but it certainly would be an ice breaker
