Do you prefer holidays in Britain or Abroad?
There are some really lovely place to go away if you want to stay closer to home. We love Devon and Cornwall and find it a great place to take kids.
Abroad as it's generally overall better value for money. I like experiencing some other cultures, authentic tasting food and more reliably warm weather
I think each has its pros and cons. The actual travelling spoils foreign holidays for me and doubt I will go abroad anymore. I want to visit lots more places in the UK but travelling companions are hard to find!
SamGoodship - Abroad for me. Never mind security at the airports, rip off duty free goods, expensive taxis. The joy of going abroad excites me.
As someone from Jersey I love both because I can just hop on a train or the car to go to another town, village or city I have to fly to go to places on the mainland uk
I enjoy both. The UK has hundreds of destinations to explore and is often overlooked as a viable holiday option
The holidays abroad can be a lot of hassle, its damaging to the environment and the economy and is expensive. In the UK you can normally just drive to the destination and you can organise the hotel/guest house etc yourself. No question though you can get some bargains abroad, maybe off-season but still very decent weather where you are going and at least if you find a bargain holiday abroad the damaging the economy bit is not as relevant although the environmental damage is.
So much I haven't seen in the UK to be honest and I'm down in the south west with beautiful seaside towns and amazing countryside which seems 10x nicer in the summer when you have the sun in the sky and warm temperatures.
I like the South West too. Devon & Cornwall has always been my Idyllic place to be. I use to live In Devon some time ago. Wales Is nice too. I am done with abroad now and have done my fair share of Travelling, so It Is the UK now for me. You can get some really good deals In the UK If you do your research. Obviously peak times of the year are extortionate but we still get good weather In between.
i hate airports but will admit abroad in the sun feels so much calmer than the uk so i would say away,
Abroad, at least almost guaranteed decent weather. Uk holidays are not usually good value for money and the weather is very hit and miss. Also go abroad broaden your horizons meet new people etc
Abroad, but only somewhere exclusive or exotic, which we tend to do every five years or so. Can’t stand cheap crap hotels packed with Brits getting drunk in the sun. Otherwise stay in England, Wales or Scotland in our touring caravan for about 100 nights per year.
Many nice places in this country , but not that pleasant if the weathers against you, given the choice it would be Abroad for me due to the guaranteed weather, but also you get to experience the different cultures .
I love going to the far east and I love a holiday in Wales too. Sometimes we catch the train to Aberystwyth for the day. Love them both.
I like anywhere nice preferably with nice weather and beautiful views! I also like the experiencing the cultures of different country’s.
Haven't been on holiday for almost 5 years. Haven't been abroad for almost 12 years. I would say Britain as we go to visit our family and can't beat quality time with them. Luckily they have come to visit us the last few years.
To be honest I've never really had a holiday at home apart from week in Blackpool. I like the sunshine would love to visit the Maldives New York .
I think that it’s easier in the Uk to plan and just go with not a lot of haste like airports and baggage and that but I do love holidays abroad once I am there.
Definitely abroad. Weather food attractions and sights are way better than what we have in the Uk
Abroad as it’s better and usually cheaper. I would travel more in uk if the accommodation wasn’t ridiculously priced.
